Smoking :(

on 2 occasions in the past week iv had a smoking problem.

Iv just had a new sump as cracked the old one :S to low me thinks!

so the oil is fresh. Used the synta sivler stuff 10/40 as recomended.

the smoking occurs when iv floored it, then il slow down and be going down a hill in say 3rd, or 4th not gibing it any stick, then i dont really need to give it any stick or anything, and poof a big cloud of black smoke comes out.

Iv read a few things on here but none came out with a fixed idea of what i can do to sort it. I think its black smoke not blue so i beleive its over fueling? how can i get it sorted?

mine does this, i wouldnt worry to much unless it gets worse! alot lot of people have posted threads on smoking (ci) have a look>

yeh. iv had a look on the past smoking threads but none seemed to come to a conclusion. iv recently put an induction kit on, could this be a problem? as for plugs and leads not sure, but its due a service

its prob the rings/bores worn, but its hadly worth a engine rebuild for an odd puff of smoke on over run? i found that it does it more when the oil is new, prob when its at its thinnest?

i thought if it was valve stem oil seals then it would be blue smoke? and smoke all the time, well like when im giving it some stick?

Black smoke is normal ish,

Blue smoke is getting f f f fu****,

BRown and white smoke you had better start getting your running boots on!!!!

Changing the Valve stem seals shouldn't require an engine rebuild. It will be a lengthy job though.

Mine smokes but only when i really give it death, think its overfueling cos of my K&N doesnt use any oil and the smoke is black, quite embarrasing at night tho looks like a diesel! Might try some cleaners on the engine and manifold.

you sure its black not white? iv never heard of black smoke on overun mines chuckin white smoke out very rarely on over run my engines mint had stem seals done its the oil pump causin it its breathing heavy and puttin oil through the tb and inlet mani

well mines deffo black, think i need to get it plugged in and get her fully diagnosed. its not doe it again tho i have to say.

mine very occasionally ive noticed gives out a little bit of white smoke when coming off overrun but only if ive been going downhill!fuck knows what thats about, just had the head rebuilt and rings done so i know its nothing serious!
