Bye bye VR6...............and hello new car!

Recommended Posts

Sunday will be a sad day as the VR6 noise leaves my life for the foreseeable future (and probably forever tbh), as its sold and will be collected by its new and careful owner this weekend.

Then i have to wait until the following Thursday to collect......

210bhp, climate, Recaros from and back, 26k on the clock.....and soon to be mine!

Will miss tha sound of the 6, but i think the grin should stay for a bit longer!

Cheers mate! I was looking around for a bit' date=' but there's absolutely nothing below 16-17k that VW do thats in the slightest bit interesting......and apparently the Leon handles better than the MK4 GTI too!

nice, i shame they didnt make a 3door tho.

seen R32s in autotrader for 16k, and that price will come down when the mk5s are more common,

audi s3 for me with that money, wich i dont have :(

I'll be going for an S3 this year. I wanna chip whatever I get, and 265bhpo and fwd doesn't seem to be the best idea to me!

Nice car mate the Cupra R. Being a turbo its also very tunable :) I've always liked the Cupra. Good colour too.

Like quite a few others on here I'm sticking with my VR for the next few years. Looking to buy a house fairly soon which will eat up my money! In the distant future I'd also go for possibly an R32 (the mark 4). I recently saw one (a mark 4 shape) and it was in a bright blue colour (same as the Ford Focus RS or Escort Cosworth blue). Looked very nice. There was a feature about a twin turbo R32 recently with 400bhp and I think 380ft/lbs torque available from as low as 2800rpm! The conversion cost 9k though ...but then it would be supercar pace with that kind of power with it's permanent 4 wheel drive as standard.. and would still be a good 20-30k less than the Evo FQ-400.

S3 is nice too mk3anni. A mate of mine has one at work. Standard performance not much different to a mildly tuned VR. But the S3, like the Cupra, is easily tunable - simple remaps can easily take it to 270bhp+.

i'd agree with that. i was lucky enough to get my hands on 1 the other week, i was in it for a good 2-3 hours and thought it was great. the handling was really good, much better than my vr, and it puts the power down really well for a fwd car. i want 1. !amazed

Youv'e just done the oposite to me!!!!

I've had 2 cupra R's v good fun mate, i'm sure you will enjoy.

My advise if you plan to tune it is give Jabba a call, been down other routes to my regret ;)

The only thing which let it down imo is the front wheel drive, other than that it's a steal for the money !lol

Enjoy !lol
