Rick's RadoVR6 27
Had a couple of Wtf moments since the oil has been changed? Have an idea as to what it may be! Any one else got any thoughts?? It only happens when at low idle once slowing down??
Rick's RadoVR6 27
Can anyone give an opinion as I thought I may have over filled the oil but it sits just under halfway on the dipstick! It stalled again today at the roundabout! Grrrrr
Lukey. 381
Are you using a different oil?
Rick's RadoVR6 27
10w/40 mate??
Earwig 89
Think that might be a tad to thick, but not as much to create stalling I wouldn't have thought ?
craggsy 91
It's nothing to do with the oil, that was just coincidence. There is nothing near the sump plug or oil filter to cause those symptoms.Have you scanned it for any faults as I'd say a sensor has thrown a wobbly
Earwig 89
Crank position sensor possibly ?
cactusjackslade 146
Maf sensors are also very suspect when the engine cuts out when coming to a stop like a round about or junction. Doesn't always throw a fault code either. Check the wires on maf sensor plug for breaks or bad connection. The maf itself may be faulty though.
Rick's RadoVR6 27
Would a school boy error like not putting the full 6 litres that the vr needs account for that??

Lukey. 381
Have you rechecked it ? It will sink after getting fully circulated
wardycatt 7
I'm no expert, but I think the oil is a red herring here. I can't see how that would periodically affect your idle. It's most likely some sort of sensor-related issue in my opinion. Idle control valve, MAF etc... cactusjackslade
