I asked Designa Dubs this question, and they said there was a big difference (but its only 8mm!?)

If i was going to change the brakes id probably go for the 312mm(or 318mm or something) setup from a seat. Im told these can be fitted easily.

Does anyone know where I can find a definitive guide to fitting the VW/Audi 312mm setup?

or know what parts I need to do the conversion?

i think....

calipers (tho you can use 288 calipers), carriers, some spacers made up, flexi hoses (may be same as 288mm ones tho), pads, discs.

What cars came with 312mm brakes? So i can get some parts!

Audi TT, s3, golfmk4 4motion & V5, among others!

If its anything like the mk4's 288s, you just need to replace the carriers and the discs.

I was told that no spacers are required to fit 312s on a VR6 - you just use the standard caliper carriers from a car with the 312mm setup (Audi TT, S3, Seat Leon Cupra R etc). Apparently, these will bolt straight to the VR6 hubs.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?
