andy 0
I would like to replace this but am not to keen on the £130 ish price of the Vibratechnics one. What has everyone else done and is it worth the cash for the Vibra one or are there other viable options?
eViL 0
The americans rate the VF-engineering mount over the Vibratechnics mount apparently..It'll be posted on the Vortex somewhere
simey 0
I'd rate the front Vibratechnics engine mount keeps the settled in hard cornering and on/off throttle.
binliner 0
the vibratechnics is supposed to be v good... you buy the best you only buy it once
jcorallo 0
I have vibratechnics front mount and I'm not too sure about it yet. I dont think it holds the engine any more steady than a good OEM one to be honest, and the design of it is open to question also I'd say - the OEM design looks a darn site stronger to me. Time will tell though. However, I;ve heard of people mashing these Vibratechnics mounts on modded motors...Jules
VR6Steve 0
Jules - would be interested to know your developing opinion on the vibratechnics mount as I was considering if one was worth while.
jcorallo 0
From a design perspective, the OEM one looks like it would spread the forces better onto the subframe, particualry when accelerating (the important bit). The OEM bottom 'cap' is the full diameter of the mount (nearly). The Vibratechnics one simply bolts to the hole in the subframe that the OEM 'stem' goes through - and there is a dodgy looking washer to help spread the force. It just looks like its concentrating a lot of force in one area around that central hole - thats all. I feel that one day I'll discover a nice crack in my subframe, or worse still, having it pull right through the subframe.....Jules

just2zang 0
my experience of vibra technics is varies massively.. must have bought 5 sets in three years for my fezzy turbo.. I found a problems with a batch and broke three sets in a week. Looked like a mould fault. They ended up sending me race mounts (red dots) for free. I had these re-enforced with the steel brackets from the original mounts. They never broke again after that. I've bought the vf one from stealth. Vince says these are the kiddies hands down! acf8181 0
i have a very very very slight vibration in the cabin, but my car isn't running correctly. i suspect i'll have none when thats sorted, will confirm when i do.pahtvr6's mate sorted me out..i got all three at once. think someone on this forum had the o.e. rear ones destroyed by using just a front vibra mount. andy 0
Best price/supplier ?! ?! ' date='Any increased harshness on tickover int othe cabin ?! ?! Feels much nicer when you're winding it up and changing gear quickly.
Andyboy 0
Did you manage to get the mounts, where did you get them from? Im looking for some for mine, the front and rear mounts. Did you notice any difference with uprated ones? Was it worth the money?
MrsC 0
If your looking at buying some Vibra-Technics ones, I can sort you our, give us a call on 0116 2835050, different people have different preferences when it comes down to these things, some people get on great with them, other people arent so impressed. I guess its just down to driver preferences at the end of the day But if there is anything that I can help you with, Im more than happy to tell you everything I know

scruffy 0
I have noticed a slight movement in engine especially high gears! is this the same mount that will be giving me the movement?
FishWick 21
The thing you have to rememer about the OE mounts is:-1) They're made for refinement and vibration isolation.2) The lower half of the front mount has been known to rip, ergo allowing some intimate contact between engine and bonnet...but it's quite rare. It's more of a problem on the Corrado due to the bonnet being so close to the manifold.I've been running my Vibras front and rear and a solid rubber gearbox mount for 2 years now and the Vibras are holding up well. They do a great job of turning that dead mass over the front wheels into an intergral part of the car....a feeling you never get with the OE mounts.I would also recommend replacing the cross member bushes with powerflex poly bushes as there's a heck of a lot of movement in the cross member too, and the standard bushes are soft as brie.At the end of....I've tried em all, trust me, and Vibras are the best in terms of doing the job of reducing engine movement and isolating the cabin from vibration. Avoid any mounts that use poly as they're harsh. What you can do as a good compromise, is take the OE mounts out and fill the holes with welding rods or bolt shafts of the same diameter. This effectively turns the mount into a solid one, as opposed to a swiss cheesed block of rubber.I looked into hooking up some telescopic dampers from a Volvo engine to further reduce movement and to absorb harmonics....but never got round to it, might investigate that again some day....especially when the charger goes on!
