oldmandon 1
Hey all,I know I've posted a thread about lumpy tickover, but now I'm finding the running is starting to get irratic. when I accelerate the car splutters until 1500 rpm then it clears, well that was what was happening, now its doing it higher up the rev range. however if I drive steady, the car runs relatively smoothly. Also, I had a go at revving it and driving it hard to see if it would clear anything, and it felt as though it was running on 4??!!I've changed the plugs, changed the air filter. Ive cleaned all the contacts with wd40 inc ht leads etcstill have the fuel filter to change.Any other suggestions would be gratefully accepted......

VR6Pete 1,455
Can you see any arching? At night, spray a light mist of water over the coilpack. If your car runs better on warm days than it does on cool days, it's probably your coilpack cracked and letting moisture into unit. They are prone to cracking - usually have loads of these types of problems this time of year

However I could see some arching from the front left plug lead (nearest air intake)...???!!!!!! My car runs worse when it's warm. Will any vr6 coilpack fit (provided the plug is the same shape) or does it HAVE to be a golf one?
