russj249 2
I understand from my handbook that some models have heated mirrors that come on with the heated rear window. It has a * in the book which means only on some models. I presume that the VR6 being the top of the range it might have it on, but then I thought if this is only on the highline or something. If anyone can shine any light it'd be great as I don't know if I haven't got it, or if they don't work.CheersJoe
Jonnyboy82 0
I'm pretty sure i haven't got heated mirrors mate and i have a 97 highline. It must have been an optional extra??
russj249 2
This is what it says in the book.. Load of rubbish about manual mirrors.Then...Electrically adjusted mirrors* are set by moving the knob... press left or right etc etc etcMirror heating*The electrically operated outside mirrors are heated as long as the heated rear window is switched on.* means only standard on some models or optional extra's.From reading that though it makes me think that it's saying all electrically controlled mirrors are heated. Because there is a * next to electric mirrors, surely this would be the optional extra? (although standard on VR)Confusing
shail 0
I have heated mirrors on my 97 non-highline. I know beacuase I broke one and the dealer wanted about £30 just for the mirror glass. Ended up sticking a cheapo one over the cracked one.
Kelster 0
I always found this odd with the VR6. Mine does not have heated mirrors btw.My old Golf MK3 8V GTi had heated wing-mirrors and even had a nice red LED that said I was running low on fuel, something they forgot on the VR. And imo the VR is more likely to run out of fuel the thirsty beast it is
MarksMintness 0
Totally agree with Kelster,My OBD1 VR6 doesn't have heated mirrors (i don't think anyway) but has electrically adjustable mirrors.Shocking omission on the fuel light as well, it's pretty dangerous! Rikki 2
All vr6's "should" have heated mirrors! Mine also has a fuel light !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
russj249 2
mine doesn't have a fuel light either.. so probably doesn't have heated mirrors. I might take it apart tomorrow and see if there is any wires other than motor wires going in.Also good point about the mirrors being smashed and replaced with cheapo ones from halfrauds. Bigjobbo 0
I would say all VR6's have heated mirrors. I have a 94' OBD1 and a 97' OBD2 non highline, and they both have them, and work. If they not working, check if they're connected, or have incorrect glass, or a cheap stick on glass.
