bonnet scoop

i have looked hi and low for a suitable bonnet scoop to keep the underbonnet temperatures down

and think it would help when running a turbo

but i just cannot find one i think suits the car

any ideas

To me scoops do not suit the mk3 at all. How about putting vents like the sprinter wing vents on bonnet

i am looking to have a good airflow over the turbo then down under the car past the core

it has not been necessary in the past when i had an intercooler

but since using a charge cooler ( stealthmode )the intake temps have been higher than i wanted

so i plan to uprate the charge cooler rad with a cinquicento radiator with a fan and switch or temp controller

its just a feeler i know from the past general opinion has been against fitting a scoop for the reasons you mentioned

the vents will release some heat but will they be as effective as a scoop

any pictures of vr6's with vents scoops lets have a look!!!

what about raising the back of the bonnet to let air into the back.

Yeah as mat said above, its the old rs turbo trick (bin there done that jobbie!) as was thinking of doing some thing like that on mine

i may be wrong but i think raising the back of the bonnet sucks the air out as airflow goes over it air wont go in unless you raise the front surely

Yeah it just helps release the heat around the back of the engine, should help de-ice in the winter too!

You just need to raise the bonnet hinges 20mm or so.

Yer a couple of washers on the bottom of the hinges should see you right
