The police do carry them, well they do in my area. A friend of mine is a police officer and they have emissions testers.
Bobtrude 0
so what is the fine for having your car decated?
CorradoVR6-n.o.s 0
what can they prove if your car fails emmisions on the side of the road....nothing as it needs to be the full vosa test and the will issue you a prohibition notice to rectify the fault as it could be anything wrong with the fuelling system not just the cat.I have mine on a V-Band fitting, takes ten min to swap from a cat to non cat. gavinvr6 0
purchase an second hand one for a few quid and smash out the internals. when they look at it and it looks genuine hopefully thats enough. im sure they only test it for emmisions if its an old banger or smoking like a looney. gavinvr6 0
so does mine. but an early vr can pass the emmisions test without a cat, dunno how but a mate of mine had his de-catted and forgot to change it for the mot and it passed after being tested correctly
