Geastb 0
I've seen lots of talk of amd enlarged throttle bodies - how much does it cost? Do they use the original tb or is it on an exchange basis?Any info?
andy 0
Either, have seen them for as little as £120 exchange, I'd personally get a spare one from a scrappy for peanuts and send it off. I think AMD charge £250 ish.
Geastb 0
Thanks, have AMD got a web site? Does anyone know approx how long they need the TB for?
andy 0
AMD do have a website, go to the "Links" link on the navigation bar at the top left of this page, they're the top one.
Guest Olly_K
i thought you could only get the enlarged throttle body for OBD1 cars, as i dont think it will make much of a diference on an OBD2 car as they already have a big TB
Geastb 0
Cheers andy - just got to find a scrappy with a tb that i can send off!

FishWick 21
Yep OBD2 TBs are bigger than OBD1 Golf ones. A cheaper option would be to find a Corrado OBD1 TB as it doesn't have the 'step' in it, but even that sees good results from being opened out and the butterfly spindle diameter reduced. Geastb 0
Is there anywhere else apart from AMD that do this work? Possibly cheaper?

Nerih 0
enlarged tb is worth the extra money, but imo get it chipped while your at it (even though the tb is on exhange.)
