I've had my vr for just over a week now. Tonight on my way home, i realized what a monster it is. I think today was the first day i was comfortable opening up the throttle on a clear stretch of motorway. I'll be honest, the speed and power is FRIGHTENING! Our family also has a few other fast cars (faster) but non of them deliver them in such a smooth, but raw edge that the VR does. It really is extremely powerful. As a young (relatively) driver it amazes me how driving a powerful car sobers you up, Okay the first day was total driving like a maniac, but after a week, i'm now using the gears (i.e 5th) to cruise around and generally enjoy the vr6. Is this what its about right? Enjoying a car, not revving the shite outta it at every traffic light.

I saw a large landrover (new one) with 4 exhaust pipes and the chap was pummeling everyone.... :D I think he just about saw the badge on the back as the vr roared past :) .

I can safely say, i now know what all the fuss is about owning one of these cars. They are fast, but not the fastest, however the method in which it delivers this 'fastness' is refined to the max......wow.

Heres one very very impressed new vr6 owner.

When i bought my Corrado, i booted it off the one roundabout in 2nd and loved every minute of it. You soon get used to it! lol!

Must say though, on selling the Corrado and buying the (potentially) slower MK3, the grin has returned. The 2.8 seems to deliver the power differently, and unless my Corrado was knackered, the 2.8 also seems to have more torque.

Hopefully the rolling road day will tell all!

its on the motorway where the vr6 comes to life...it really is amazingly fast, but in a very relaxed way.

personally i'm not that happy with it around town, its hard work. i prefer driving the girlies 1.6 8v polo around town actually...i think i need a schrik badly.

yes, those who dont have shrick, we must buy shrick soon (money is irrelavant, my leg hurts from all the clutch control and gear changes).

who else has a the symptoms of the vr6 grin?

damn its a good feeling, also i've never had a car that you can hear cooling down (i.e as the metal cools), after its been used 'properly' in its native enviroment...M1.

I'll second that, on a really good surfaced fast road its brilliant, round town the gearing is pants and the ride (on mine with Eibachs) is awful. Its the high speed stuff that gives the grins.

agreed. I find that the ride even with standard springs and shocks (albiet with 17's and pzero's) when i go over even small variations in road surface whilst accelerating it feels like the wheels are boucing over the road and completely lose grip....which means spin :(. Wish it were rear wheel drive.

I've only experienced the Schrick with a supercharger (and then only for two day so far) but the difference in low down grunt between this motor and my old 'charged Corrado is enormous.

I'd say go for one before any other engine mods. 8o)

shrick...i must have shrick...There must be a rule about having a HUGE picture of all those engine mods i cant afford being stuck in my face everytime i read a post by you anorak...LOL :D.

Has anyone got the torque curves for with and without shrick?
