c3vrg 2 Posted March 26, 2007 Report Share Posted March 26, 2007 i have tt rims with 205 tyres fitted ,they do catch on the arch and i dont want to get anything rolled so was thinking of fitting 195/40/17 tyres ,any thoughts ,any one else done this and have pics or advise ? Earwig 89 Posted March 27, 2007 Report Share Posted March 27, 2007 On a 7.5 rim if you want a stretched look you are best going with a 195/40/17You need to find a place that is happy to fit them as they are not easy to do.Most places will try and fob you off saying they will just roll off the rims when you corner which is crap....The pressure inside the tire is constantly pushing outwards, they will not come off anymore than a regular size tyre will.Given the option though I would rather roll my arches before shelling out for new tyres :-)Mark. kalv 0 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Share Posted March 28, 2007 I've got 195/40/17 on my TT Comps although they don't catch, don't seem to fill me with confidence going round corners or int he wet..?I also got 205/40/17 on my 6-spokeTT alloys and have had my rear arches done for £100 and doesn't catch but havne't loaded up the back yet! purple highline monster 0 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Share Posted March 28, 2007 its worth the travel to one that will, if they know what they are doing and use heat and a correct roller that bolts to the hub of your car the paint is usually pretty flexible, you do run the risk of cracking with 2 pack paint though is its very brittle once it ages Link to post Share on other sites
