Black highline project!!

Recommended Posts

The car is going into the body shop to get all scratches etc removed next week and the arches rolled so the 18's dont rub.

She has a Remus Exhaust system on there at the mo - but thats coming off as i have a Raceland Manifold and full Stainless system (de-cat) with only 1 silencer. So yes its going to be very loud and bubbly hehe (This is the reason i bought the car lad - I fooking love the Engine note)

I have 18" R32 wheels on my mk3. I think if you choose the right wheel (OEM VAG, BBS etc) it looks OK, but 7.5" is the widest you can go without major arch mods and the ride is pretty harsh on those 205/35/18 tyres...

These tyres are also more expensive than 205/40/17s and they wear quicker.

agreed 17s woud have been the safer/better choice plus you arent goin to be able to do much lowering on the coilovers, the horrible ride height has nothing to do with the gap i the arch just how high the car sits on 18s.

take em back for 17s mate ;)

Lol well i took them back and picked up a set of SSW Mesh 17's :-) - They look a bit like the BBS Split rim anniversary alloys on the VR6. And yes i am alot happier.

The car is going into the exhaust centre monday and in the bodyshop wednesday. Will be tinting the windows and painting the calipers sometime on the weekend and putting the mk4 lights on aswel.

Going to be cleaning up my Throttle body and putting a Green cone filter on. Give it a full service with K1 10mm leads and NGK Platnum plugs etc

The car is a bit sluggish at the mo as i bet the oil is crappy and the injectors r grubby.

HOPEFULLY she will be sounding sweet and running like a dream.

For thoughs of you who have the supercharger conversion - what insurance company do you use and what sort of price are you paying????

I'm 25 no points and 6 years protected no claims bonus... never claimed or anything. So hopefully i should get a reasonable quote :-s

Well i knew my car was a bit underpowered and i found out why. The Bl**dy CAT was in a terrible state and it must have been restricting her. :) but know the raceland manifold is on and a full stainless system (only one silencer) it sounds amazing.

The car is in the body shop having a good going over at the mo but when i pick her up i'll take some photo's for you all and get you a few Sound clips as this is the main reason i got her :-)
