Just get Better and Better!! :P

Peeps,

Guess who just gave an R32 a pasting on the M8 in the early hours of this morning....He...He...He ..... ME!!!!!

Bugger cut out on me without an indicator ~:( , straight into the middle lane from the slip road, hard up the ass of the vehicle in front, wasn't a happy bunny as I'd stomp on the brakes to slow down, both doing around 80mph at the time!

Next I go to overtake and get by, and the bugger does it again!!! Cuts out at 90mph without indicator and dabs the brakes ~:( ~:( .....Bo***cks I thought, your getting it..... Headlights on and off we go....... Either newbie doesn't know what his car can do, or as it's an 04 and it's not run in yet :? ....Either way I'm having some of this...Hard on 'im I was all the way to Easterhouse Turn off wherby he pulled off across three lanes and onto the slip road ( I want his engine, as he won't have it for long!!!) after that I slowed back to normal speeds 70-80mph...

To be fair, I reckon he's just got the car, hence being able to catch him and hold on, probably if it was an older car/better driver I'd have been left for dead but as it was the ol' girl (NOT Paula :o ) did well I thought... especially as it's an Estate...He..he...he An Old Man verrrrryy Happy! :P:P:P

Don't forget tho, the 4wd drivetrain has some serious transmission losses. I've seen a power graph for an AMD chipped V6 4motion and it had 239bhp ATF and 'only' 150-160 ATW. Now I reckon most tuned Vr's would have this sort of power and they're lighter so I'm not surprised!!! ;) 8o)

The vr does a good job against the R32 in a straight line, i kept up with one from 2nd gear onwards upto about 110 mile an hour then we both slowed down, at that time my car was pretty standard too, theres life in the old girl yet, good value for money if you can beat a £20 odd grand car that is top of the range tho

Yep since having mine Shricked I've had a few "encounters" with R32's and they are always up for it, goading me until I have to join in! Always nice to see the look on there face when the realise I'm not budging from there rear bumper! Even better when they give you a respectful wave when your cheapo (in comparision) car has just left them thinking they've wasted there money! LOL!

Although I still wouldn't mind one!

yeah r32's just dont have the grunt to match all that grip.

Six, you mention them "goading" you, i find that ALL mk4 GTI drivers (and even TDI driver) owners "goad" me to get out of their way. (but i never do)

Totally agree Mk4 drivers are the worst for this - normally a sales rep aswell. (no offence to any reps on here!)

just goes to show its not the size of the boat but the motion of the ocean! i've had a few dabbles with them pre-schrick and been impressed by the low speed grip/acceleration especially outta roundabouts! same cant be said of the speed from 40-70 tho, all over them like a bad rash from there up to the wrong side of the limit and beyond! just looking for a victim r32 to try out now i'm all scricked and chipped! bring it on in you 24k vr's! six is right tho, they are still very nice! i want those seats! just not the midrange transmission loss!
