SankysVR6 1
Does anyone now how to remove the rubbing strips that go along the side of the car. It's just the strip on my drivers doors is coming away slightly. But its not enough to get any glue or something in there. so i would rather take it all off see about fixing it properly.
binliner 0
they are clipped on, you just need to gently prise it off... probably just need a new clip which are pennies from VW (get a few in case you break a couple more taking it off )
VR6Pete 1,455
I can vouch for what Justin says chances are that you will break more when you remove the strip to replace it with..They aint the best design in the world... dont forget to buy the rubber cups that they sit in also as these perish over time and the new clip will keep popping out if they are not replaced.Pete

Earwig 89
As well as the clips get the little rubber grommets that push into the holes. Little green things....Not sure if they come with the clips or if separate...Mark.
SankysVR6 1
Right got the strip off last night, should the strip be completely flat. Or is it meant to lift up slightly at the ends.Got the part numbers off ETKA can some VW workers check these for us.Green grommets 1H0 853 586Front rear clip 1H0 853 585Center Clip 1H0 853 585 BAnd whats the difference front and center clip
richievr 1
your numbers are spot on matey..for a front door, from memory, you will need 6 grommets - 39p each.. 2 front/rear clips 86p each.. and 4 centre clips 79p each..the centre ones are deeper than the 2 end ones to account for the shape of the recess behind the trim, but the trim should be straight to match the flat side of the door panel..
