  1. Ok another thing is when I plugged in a code reader it also gave me real time stats. The vacuum was showing as 29.9 is that right?
  2. If there was fuel starvation would I see a drop in the fuel pressure? I've got a gauge connected to the fuel pressure regulator and the pressure does not drop although I can't really check what it's doing while im driving it.
  3. The exhaust place literally just connected the main pipe to the downpipe which was already in situ and put on the backbox. No vacuum pipes were touched.Would the brake servo vacuum pipe have an effect on the way the car runs if there were a leak in it?
  4. I'm using an ecu I was given with the turbo. It's supposed to have a united motorsport base map for 440cc injectors on it.
  5. Yes Jay I extended the loom. Got a mate to help me with that as I didn't have a gas powered soldering iron. We checked it all as well.
  6. It's always the way ain't it. Going back over there today to carry on fault finding. I've got a Greddy profec boost controller which has all the vacuum hoses connected but no electrical connections yet. I'm wandering if that could be causing an issue.
  7. Been waiting for the chap I bought the turbo off to message me back to see if he had any issues. Not heard anything yet.
  8. The MAF is in between the 2 red silicone connectors on the silver section. It's a united motorsport 4" MAF housing.
  9. Also I thought I would mention that just before it cuts out the battery light momentarily comes on and flickers. The battery is brand new and I checked the earth and even run another earth to it just incase the first one isn't good enough.
  10. Yes bud it was definitely facing the right way.
  11. I plugged a code reader in but didn't get any fault codes up
  12. It's not good guys I changed the crank sensor, coil pack and the MAF. I know for a fact that they were all working on my other car but the MAF still does not seem to work on this car. It wouldn't let this car start with it plugged in but starts up fine without it. Just had the car started for around 30mins then went to drive off and it cut out again.
  13. I had it running without a MAF. As when it came to first starting it after the rebuild it would not start and as soon as I unplugged the MAF it started so presume the MAF I was given with the turbo is faulty. I've just taken a few parts off my other vr got the crank sensor, coil pack and the MAF. Gonna give them a try now.
  14. The previous owner had done everything the same apart from the cams, short air intake and the oil cooler. I'm going to replace the crank sensor and the coil pack and see if it makes any difference. If not then I will definitely consider getting it down to vince.
  15. I can still hear the noise as in the vid like it's misfiring it's just a lot quieter now that the exhaust is on.
  16. It's got the original lump in it bud. I've got another vr6 sitting there which I could use for spares.
  17. Basically guys I had it booked in for the 23rd to get it mapped but because I couldn't get it running properly in time I spoke to vince and cancelled. But on the other hand I got a ecu with the turbo and Bosch 440 injectors which has a united motorsport base map which is on the car at the moment. So I think the map side is ok. I'll be working on the car Saturday so will check the injectors and crank sensor.
  18. Cheers bud. Il take the sensor off my other vr6 and give it a try.
  19. So I drove the car down to an exhaust place round the corner and got them to put the exhaust on. Went to start the car back up afterwards and it sounded sweet, then went to pull off the ramp and it cut out and wouldn't start up again. Left it for 10mins and then it started again and as soon as I pulled off it cut out again and wouldn't start. Any ideas on what I should check guys? There is definitely fuel getting to the rail as when i pushed the clip on the side of the rail together fuel started gushing out. To me it feels like it's not not getting a spark but I have got brand new leads, coil
  20. I'll see what it sounds like with the exhaust on and go from there. I need to sort out this heater issue first.
  21. Cheers Russ. I did have the heaters on when we were bleeding the system.
  22. I'm not sure if it's missing but the exhaust is not on yet and I assumed the 263 cams were making it sound like that. It is meant to idle differently when you change the cams isn't it?
