  1. The original cooler is already fitted behind the sandwich plate. I've been told I need a alloy cap from a early VR. Trying to find one now but it's proving to be difficult as they have stopped making them.
  2. Ok I didn't know that. What should I use to seal the threads?
  3. Cheers for the reply. Yes it is PTFE am I not supposed to use that?
  4. Hi guys I need some help with the wiring of a wotbox. I've got pretty much most of it done but now i'm stuck on the clutch pedal position switch wire. My clutch pedal does not have a switch as I think the switches were only fitted to cars with cruise control which is what I have read somehwere. So what would I connect this wire to?
  5. Fitted the extension tube today but when I went to screw the cap back on it seems like it is the wrong one to use with this setup. If I screw it fully the face of the cap does not even touch the sandwich plate. Can anyone advise please. I presume I need to order another cap but which is it that I need? Thanks
  6. Guys can someone help me with this I went to fit my extension tube and now it seems the cap is the wrong one to use for this setup. Did you have to change the mocal oil cooler cap aswell?
  7. Ah sorry to hear that. I've said to myself if my thermostat housing ever goes I will get a billet one. Bit expensive though but at least I would never have to touch it again.
  8. Hopefully back to work on the car this weekend. My oil cooler extension tube arrived today from United Motorsport. Sump is back on now so just need to change the oil filter then get her filled up with oil again. The rest of the weekend will consist of getting the front end back on, coolant filled up, WOTBOX wired up and fit a bit more of the meth kit.
  9. I managed to get hold of United Motorsport and today the extension tube arrived. This is what it looks like...
  10. One thing I've noticed with different makes of hoses is the thickness. I had some boost hoses from ASH and they're ones I'm sure had 4 layers of threads in them and then the few hoses I got from sfs only had 3 layers of threads in them.
  11. Cheers but that's not the right thing.
  12. They are a pain in the backside to get hold of. They don't answer the phone and I have emailed them twice in the last week and they have not replied.
  13. Does anyone know of any other places apart from United Motorsport where I could buy the extension tube which will allow me to use my OE oil cooler as well as the Mocal one? Thanks
  14. I'll be up for this if I can get the car built back up by then.
  15. You've gone quiet Poriordan. Any more updates?
  16. Cheers for that. It made things a lot clearer.
  17. I will most definitely fit a recirculating one. The next question is are they all universal? I bought one years ago for my a3 and never used it so I was thinking of using it on the vr.
  18. I'm not sure what spring it is. I was given it with the turbo I bought. Surprisingly it was also fitted to another vrt and running without any issues!
  19. Hi guys as United Motorsport and a couple of other people have said that my cutting out issue could be because of my atmospheric blow off valve could anyone explain to me why this is? Also how would I fit a recirculating valve? Do I fit it in the same position and then run another hose off the outlet of the bov valve and run it to the inlet pipe to the turbo?
  20. Someone mentioned that earlier on during the build. I should have taken more notice. Could you advise any further please. Should I get rid of it completely or replace it with a recirculating one? Thanks
  21. I got the 6-30 psi kit as advised by them. No pre turbo nozzle. Just 1 nozzle to go on the air intake.
  22. I guess I know what I will be doing this weekend...
  23. I think it may have been a aftermarket one. I will try with just some sealer and if not then I will get a genuine gasket.
  24. Thanks mate, I'm pretty certain mine is being caused by the fuel pressure. The last few times I drove it before I put it back into the garage it did not cut out so I'm guessing I had got the fuel pressure just right.
