  1. Living in the Manchester area you don't normally get good quotes but I was quite surprised. My cars a un-modified highline. Probably helps that it's got a tracker and cat1 fitted.
  2. 3k a year but won't be doing many anyway. Don't wanna spoil it. Haha
  3. Hi Peeps, After searching hi and low I've just had the quote of the century. Flux Direct £197.47 Fully comp Limited mileage (I don't plan on doing many anyway) And this is with only 2 yrs NCB. We'll as you can imagine I jumped on it. Haha. All set up now. Bargain if I must say so myself.....
  4. Thanks for the replies. I'm just curious as I have a colour concept with coilovers on and the VR is standard. I've had a look at them and although there in really good condition there's no rating stickers on them.
  5. Hi All, As the thread says above will a set of coilovers from a 1997 golf gti fit on a 1996 vr6. Thanks Carl

  7. Your probably right Pete. Haha. My eyes failed me. No doubt policies will have risen by a good 75% since then. I'm struggling to find a good price. I only want to use her to come to the shows. Have you any sergestions mate? Thanks Carl
  8. Just an update...... Emailed these guys 48hrs ago and had no reply.
  9. I've just forwarded all my details via email. Let's see what it brings. Haha
  10. Try behind the fuse box pal. Should be wired into the loom behind it!!! When you cut it out remember to join the loops back up which immobilises the starter and fuel pump. :-)
  11. Yes mate they should be although you might find the ignition cut out could be cut in on the loom coming from the ignition switch. But starter and fuel with be done behind the fuse box if a proper job has been done mate. You'll have a better idea once you drop the cowlings and fuse box. I had a similar problem on my colour concept and found a loose wire. Poorly fitted. I ripped it off and put a cat1 toad on my cc and VR.
  12. You'll probably find a concept 50 is wired up behind the fuse box if it's been wired properly. Take your ignition cowlings off and drop the fuse box. I'd certainly be looking for a loose or broken wire first. Sounds like a trial or error job. If you can't find the problem get a sparky to check it out. Good luck.
  13. I soaked mines in ud40 then took them to the vice and tightened the vice on the bolt.
