  1. Thanks mate , I'll keep watching ebay then lol
  2. I've been having naughty thoughts about an R32 engine & DSG box but don't want to go the full 4motion jobbie (I'd love to but something tells me it'd take me years lol) I'm sure I read somewhere about the DSG box being converted to front wheel drive.... Was it that French gull wing monstrosity???
  3. Thanks mate, doesn't sound too bad of a job. Just need to get some time to do it now before the bad weather arrives
  4. Hi all, I've just been looking round my car, 1st proper inspection since I bought it & I've found the passenger sunroof drain hole has been siliconed up. I spoke to the previous owner & he says the pipe that connects to the top has come off or snapped so he sealed it up...... How big of a job is it to replace this pipe as I think water us getting into the car
  5. That's going to look cool! Where did you get the shorty mirrors from mate?
  6. I too will be interested to see how you get on & what actual gains you get.
  7. Name: VW Golf Mk3 (1998) Date Added: 04 October 2013 - 04:26 AM Owner: Marneus Short Description: This is my 5dr VR6 Auto, standard at the moment but collecting parts so I can sort it over the winter when I have time.... Ultimately would like it to be a 3.0VRT Manual View Vehicle
  8. Thanks Pete, looks like I'll play guinea pig & see what happens
  9. So I'll have to wait till next year & buy a complete MOT failure VR to do the swap, I'll keep the auto & try not to break it by adding more power lol
  10. Doesn't the 8v have a cable operated clutch & the VR6 needs hydraulic?
  11. Afternoon all, As the title states, does anybody know how the auto box will stand up to a little tuning? Just the basics & possibly a supercharger? Or would it eat itself straight away? Cheers Jamie
  12. The 8v is a cable change so a manual conversion is on the back burner for a bit
  13. Hi all, I know this has been questioned to death but I have a couple of things that I can't find the answer to. I have a 1996 8v GTI that I'm going to be parting out over the next few months & what I want to know is: Can I use the pedal box from the 8v? Can I use the clutch master/slave cylinder from the 8v? Can I use the hydraulic lines, brackets & other bits from the 8v? I know I'll need a VR6 gearbox, clutch & flywheel but what else will I need? Cheers Jamie
