  15. Sadly I didn't do the welding it was already done. I've just cleaned all the wax oil off it! Theirs 2 gaskets on the inlet manifold at each end, mine looked in good shape so I didn't bother changing them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. This is my next project: Never done any body work before so this should be fun
  17. Took the inlet manifold off and rocker cover to have a go at polishing them up for that mirrored look. Bit of elbow grease, sandpaper, polish and a few hours and look what happened( great sense of achievement ) Oh and the none return value on the breather fell to bits when I took it off
  18. Hi everybody, I have been lurking about on here since September that is when I bought my first vr6. It's dragon green with 142000 on the clock, an old lady had owned it for the past 16 years with vw service history up to 10000. This is it when I first bought. Since then I've had the bonnet painted, new wheel bearing front and back and new starter motor. I've bought the car as a hobby, something to tinker about with in the garage. I work long hours and spend time with the family at weekend. I really enjoy spending a few hours a night playing about with it. So I thought it was about Time I start
  19. Yes. It starts ok then it runs on for a sec. Can't get a video up yet cos I've got the starter motor off at the moment going to strip it down and grease the cogs inside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hi everyone I am after some help. When I fire up my vr it makes a horrible crouching noise. I have took the starter motor off and test it with some jump leads and a bit of wire. It goes in and out like it should do. I have also fitted a new ignition switch. What else could it be? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks a lot your doing a great job;-) loving the vr6oc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
