Mine is OBD2 with oval repeaters...I suppose they could have stopped since then?

I bought mine this year in Ashford, Kent....around June...ordered from the factory.

I searched for ages for decent second hand ones.....unfortunately they were just all prone to the same rust. Feel free to ignore me as I fully understand the cost but I went to VW and bought genuine (about £110)....they will give you discount and if you're buying 2 it'll be even better....plus they will fit. Good luck.

Weitec Coilovers.... FK Back-box.... Uprated headlights, fogs and indicators.... Heated grey leather, air-con, sunroof.... Rest is standard and this is how I bought it a few weeks ago.

Non edited picture. Bonus as the front heated leather works, air con and sunroof! Oh and I need to patch the front jacking points but hey, considering I was expecting a rotten floor??

Well I now have the basis of a great car....already very good in my opinion and clearly loved. I hope to make it the sort of car that even though driven every day, people still want it and looks good at a show haha! Nice coilovers.... Happy with the lights.... Might change fogs/indicators/repeaters.... Wheel plans.... Nice back box....full system plan.... Light restoration to body and interior needed....ie: NS wing replacement, drivers door paint to tidy, blend panels and mop.... Roof lining, renovate original alarm system, wooden wheel and gear knob (wanted), new visors.

Great post....I've just bought my second VR...last one had a head gasket failure and I still regret not getting it done. The one I just bought cost me £1050 and it's been loved with full history and receipts....done 142k miles, mystic blue, full grey heated leather and air con, coilovers etc etc... The major bodywork issues are one front wing and front jacking points...few little dents but here's the thing; I love it, I don't want a £27k new Golf (however much) and I fully intend fixing it so it looks brand new...not show car as I drive it daily...nut stage one is wing, blend panels and polish

I had some a while back but never fitted them....sold them to a friend who reported that they were extremely good for the money....He said the ride was good
