  7. In the mean time i set about re-furbing the 16"s that were on the car when i bought it as the 17" RS4 reps are heavier than tractor wheels. The wheels are off of an Audi A3 sport. Iv always fancied having white wheels so i thought f*ck it and went ball deep. They were pretty kerbed round the rim to start with but it was soon sorted with a bit of DA action before and after Finished items I havn't got any pics of them fitted yet or the car for that fact. As soon as the weather pics up and i get a chance to clean it ill post some up
  8. The next mission was to remove the old loom and fit the VR one, I havn't got pics of this as it took quite a while and i was drinking for most of it 8-) Next was putting the lump in Then hooking up the exhaust It was all in and i gave it a quick run up (after putting the fuel pipes onthe right way) with no throttle cable (forgot to pick it up with conversion bits) and no rad , only briefly mind. I then went and scavenged/bought the missing parts needed including MAF, half the coolant hoses, new rad, throttle cable and other various small bits. I didnt get any pics of it all completed
  9. A few weeks later i found myself on some guys drive removing the engine and subframe complete from a donor highline. The engine and subframe came out in about an hour. The longest bit was removing the loom and trying to memorise where it all goes. Anyone that has removed a loom before will know how much of a PITA it is to get it around the brake servo without fully removing it. That took the rest of the day lol. Any way, engine in the back of the van on the way home for a minor strip and replace The guy i bought the engine from had reciepts for work done to the engine including the chains. A
  10. It was then time for the big strip!......which turned out to be fairly easy after all It was a pretty hot day and my mate felt the heat a little (lightweight) Once it was out it was time to put it away for a few weeks untill i could get the new engine
  11. Time for a bit of an update..... The VR6 engine went in finally a couple of months ago now, heresa couple of pics of the shagged ABF lump (bent 6 valves lol). Turned out to be a slack/worn chain It looked even worse once i got the head off

  13. I want some one to drive my vr or take me for a spin in theirs. Iv just never been in another vr other than mine so i have nothing to compare it too. For all i know it might be shite lol. Any one local fancy it?
  14. aha found the problem then lol. i have used abf clocks. is there anyway of changing it at all or do i have to swap the clocks completly? Cheers guys
  15. I might go now the conversion is finished. Any sort of convoy/ meet up before we get in?
  16. Iv just finished my conversion from 16v to VR6 and it all runs fine apart from the rev counter seems to be reading double all the time. Anyone have any ideas?
  17. i had a similar problem when a rear shock and wheel bearing were gone
  18. iv got bonrath poly top mounts and you can feel the difference compared to standard items. I killed a set of standard top mounts with my coilovers in less than a year
