  1. anybody got a part number for the replacement filler neck? and any idea how to take the old one out and fit the new one?
  2. that looks familiar, interested to hear the answer!
  3. In about 10 years of driving I have only had four cars; Peugeot 106 Escapade - could leave anything at the lights until you put it in second! Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec black three door - glued to the road! VW Mk4 GTTDI 110 Dragon Green - great cruiser VW VR6 Dragon Green - current motor. If I could put the handling of the focus with the engine from the VR then it would be the perfect car!!! cheers
  4. I have rust in exactly the same place mate on my dragon green so it is interesting to see the quotes you are getting. I take it that patch above the windscreen is a common VR6 spot??? Cheers
  5. Guys Does the club have any established discount schemes with any of the main detailing suppliers like cleanyourcar or serious performance?? Seems like we are a big enough club now to get some sort of discount from these great sites.
  6. just wondering if there had been anymore progress on the motor mate??
  7. somebody must have used Carlube before???? Its just for general use, not track days. any thoughts??? Cheers

Saunders thanks for the reply. its a real shame that the Edinburgh branch dont do over the counter because there are no other good motor factors in the area, the nearest gsf is 60miles away and a pain in the backside to get too. the only other option is EuroCarParts. There arent any special ways that I can persuad them to sell to me are there? cheers tim
  9. cheers guys, i think I am going to ignore Ben's pleas and have a go at cleaning it up. the dark (and shiny) side is calling!
  10. Has anyone used Carlube 10W40 SemiSynthetic oil out of EuroCarParts? There isnt a gsf near me and tps only deal with trade. cheers tim
  11. Believe it or not, im rapidly coming round to that idea!!!! haha tim
  12. Here is a BAD photo showing the crappy exhaust.
  13. to be honest mate, i am not sure whether it is stainless. it is just the standard one that came on the car. i take it you mean the yellow spong top and rough green bottom scouring pads rather than a brillo pad? I might give this a go and see what happens, nothing ventured! cheers
  14. Haha good stuff Gav and Nat thanks for the advice, I will get along to Halfords at the weekend!
  15. As the subject line suggests, I have an old and rusty standard exhaust and I was just wondering if there is anyway to bring it back to life and possibly get it a bit shinier?? I hear that Gav is the man for exhaust shining, judging by his Corrado?? Cheers

unfortunately I just gave them a ring and they said that they are trade only. said I had to go to the local Western Volkswagon to get parts. I take it that GSF is the next best alternative? cheers

  20. yeah good be a bit of that because it did get quite a heavy foot straight from cold!
  21. Normally when I get into the car, I take it easy until it has got up to temperature. Yesterday, I pulled out of my parking space and pushed it a little bit to hard straight from cold, put it into second and it felt like it died a bit. it sounded really rough like it wasnt firing on all cyclinders. I tried to get it to move in second and it almost felt like it banged a bit. I pulled over and it was only just ticking over. Switched it off and left it for a second and then started again. Still felt rough but as soon as it got back up to temperature, it was fine again. Anyone got any thought
  22. guys might be a stupid question but how hard is it to remove the manifold? and replace it? what needs to be done?
