Guys you are a pair of legends, you have also broken my wallet!!! I am in the process of moving house so i think that in a couple of weeks I will be owed some car cleaning relaxation. I will post up some before and after shots and let you know what I have finally used. Cheers for all the help and advice!
Sankys thats a brilliant help mate, I had been wondering about using the Megs 2 on top of the SRP and whether it would work or just remove the SRP. I unfortunately will be applying and buffing by hand. Up to know I havent used a paste wax like 476 soare there any benefits one over the other? you obviously use the 845. For summer months is the 476 better or worse? Cheers mate
Sankys I have the Megs 3 step range, some SRP, Sonus green clay bar and some AG bumper care at the minute. I have used the 3 step to good effect the last couple of times but I just feel that the wax doesnt last too long. All of the above was used on my last car which had much better paint. The VR hasnt been touched by me yet other than regular washing and as said the paintwork is dull and swirly! I was hoping that the Natty Blue might provide a stronger level of protection and depth / wet look. I am open to other suggested waxes around the £15 mark. cheers
Those are nice results nero, thanks for posting the photo, gives a good level of depth. Xyber I would love to use P21 but to be honest its a bit pricey at the minute considering the condition of the paintwork.
to be honest mate the paint has never been looked after by the previous owner as far as I can see so I am planning tp clay it, Megs 1 and 2 and then natty blue. I may swap the Megs 2 for some SRP as there are alot of swirls. The paint is very dead looking and dull so I was hoping for a mixture of depth and wetness to try and get some of the shine back into it. Cheers
cheer mate its just that I park onstreet in the city so I dont have a garage to do these things and I thought it might be a little less messy. I was worried that it might not get everything out of there. cheers for the reply
Has anyone used one of the Pela oil extractors to change their oil? You put them into the dipstick and pump the handle to create a vacuum and it effectively siphons the oil out. Anyone had experience? cheers
That must be the only VR on hear with a pink VW badge on the front....definitely unique, the motor looks mean! is that another VR in the background? cheers
vrclaire, I know this is a vw forum, but that 944 is gorgeous! A mates dad had one for a while and they are lovely cars, if a little temperamental! i'll be interested to see how the 924 ends up when finished. thanks
GlasgowRob have you got lights in your wheel arches or some clever photography?? Nice looking motor mate! PLUS the cheeky free advertising hasnt gone unnoticed fella...haha
