    Sprayed the coilpack with a water last night, the pack started arcing in 3 or 4 different places. Mainly from where the HT leads plug in, down onto the plastic cover. Any suggestions on the best/cheapest place to pick one up??

    Driving home from work today and drove through a large puddle. Straight afterwards the car was only firing on 5 cylinders or less and there was a few loud popping noises coming from the engine bay. It did clear eventually tho. It is not the first time the car has done this but is defo the worst. After having a search on the site I think it could be the coil pack. Any suggestions??

    I have had the code read for the ABS fault, number is 00283. Which i believe is a faulty sensor. Just strange that after the garage tightened up the wheel bearing it was fine for a few days.

    All new on mine too! U think it could possibly be steering rack?

    This problem i'm having seems to be getting worse, has anyone ever had a knackered wheel bearing before without it making a rumbling/grinding noise?

    Been having some issues with my handling for a while now. The car is wandering all over the place, the slightest gust of wind or bump/crack in the road and its heading for the nearest hedge. Its at the stage now where I feel unsafe. A few weeks ago I had finally had enough and took it to my local garage to get them to check over the handling problem and to fix a problem with the ABS. I got a call from the garage about an hour later saying that the wheel bearing was needing tightened up and this is also what was causing the ABS problem.     So by unhooking the top and bottom rad hoses will this drain all of the coolant from the system including the block? Or am i gonna have to take stat off to do this?

    Guys Looking to do a full coolant change at the weekend as my coolant is a getting bit dirty. Was gonna start by letting the engine warm up to normal operating temperature so the stat opens then undo bottom rad hose. Will this release all of the coolant in the block and radiator? Does anyone know of a better or correct way of doing this? I was also going to use holts speedflush? Is this any good.

    Cheers guys. Planning to get some leather soon as the cloth interior is starting to look a bit shabby, then i'll probably start looking at power upgrades. I'll also look out the autoglym bumper care

    When u say Front Left ABS Wheel Speed Sensor is this O/S or N/S? I also have the 00283 fault code popping up quite regularly.

    It's loud enough to hear whilst the car is on the move. The knock is a one off whist turning from left to right or vice versa. The noise is defo coming from the rack area. Just hoping it's not gonna be a new rack job!!! Found this thread http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?240136.0 Sounds similar to my problem.

    I've recently had new konigsport coilys, powerflex bushes, track rod ends, arb links, top mounts and bearings, ball joints and a 4 wheel alignment done but there is still a knock when i turn the steering wheel from left to right or vice versa. After reading up a bit on this website and listening to where the knock is coming from i reckon its the Universal joint on the steering rack that has a little play on it. How easy is the universal joint to replace? and where can i buy one from?

    As i don't have a clue about welding i tought i'd ask on here first before taking it to a garage. I was under the car last night checking wishbone bushes etc before my 4 wheel alignment on friday. While i was there i noticed a hole about 3 inch square in the floorpan right next to where the sill jacking point is. It looks as if a previous owner has had the standard vw jack slip and go through the floor. Anyway, i got the grinder/buffer out and cleaned it up to have a better look at it, thats when i realised it was a bit worse than i originally thought. Basically the lip between the floor pan a

    U dont need the special socket for the rears, only the front shocks.
