  1. It feels really good, theres no clunking or bumping and the steering feels really smooth. I also have it booked in for a 4 wheel alignment/camber check on friday, should they still be able to carry this out even though the top plates are sitting like this?
  2. Yeah, sorry. Thats how i've assembled it. Beginning to confuse myself now. In order i have the spring, spring plate, securing nut, bearing, top mount, securing nut, top plate and securing nut. I also have tightened the nut on top of the spring plate with an impact wrench so it's defo down as far as it can go.
  3. I also have a bolt in between the spring plate and the top mount bearing. Do u think this is where i could've went wrong? I left the bolt there because it was on the coily's when i bought them.
  4. Just done a 50 mile trip in it. No knocking or clunking. Been having a look at a few other illustrations on this site this morning. Some show bolt 8 put on before the top mount 7. Will this make a difference as to how the top plate secures?
  5. Just a bit worried as they weren't like this before. Well at least i know it'll be safe enough to drive till i get round to checking it over again!!!
  6. All the parts i used were new and from the stealers. Will the top plate sitting like this not effect the handling in any way?
  7. I fitted an FK Konigsport coilover kit and powerflex bushes yesterday. I used the guide below to assemble the top mounts etc. The only difference is that part no 5 was already on the coilovers with a securing nut holding it in place. i then put on parts 6,7,8,9 and 10 as it shows. When the car was on the axle stands all looked fine, then when i got it back on the deck this happened. I can't think where i went wrong. The top mount is the correct way round, bolts 8 and 10 are properly tightened up. I'm totally stuck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Cheers
  8. Yeah im just gonna renew both parts of the scuttle tray. It's the top trim on the skirt (The clip on part) and the end caps I need for both sides. Thanks very much guys. Appreciated.
  9. Does anyone know the VW dealers part numbers for: 1. Scuttle tray (Snapped mines at weekend trying to access ecu) 2. External plastic sill covers (Some thieving git swiped them) Cheers
  10. I get this fault code pop up every now and again. The code sometimes doesnt appear for weeks then all of a sudden its there. I've tried cleaning the MAF and the connections with electrical contact cleaner but the fault code always seems to reappear. Surely if the MAF was broken this code would be constant?? Has anyone else come across this problem? Cheers
  11. Can i not just put the time-sert onto the plug and insert into the head as per normal? I was able to put the old plug with the time-sert stuck on it back in, so there is no damage to the thread on the head.
  12. Managed to source these! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300289862322&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:Watchlink:middle:uk I will see how these work out.
  13. After a search on the net, does seem to be a time-sert that has stuck onto the plug. Good shout CorradoVR6-n.o.s. I suppose the hard part is going to be figuring out what the thread type, dia etc the time-sert is. Does anyone know what the thread type etc is in on the normal plugs?
  14. Ha, though as much!! Not meaning to sound like a total tool but, how/where do i go about getting a new one?
  15. After attempting to change my spark plugs today i noticed that 1 of the plug thread diameters is larger than the others, even though the codes on the spark plugs are all the same. I presume that the larger threaded plug has been helicoiled and the helicoil is now stuck on the plug. Is there a way to remove the helicoil from the plug without damaging it? If not what should i do as i want to change all the plugs. Cheers
