hi guys recently blew a piston in my golf vr6 and I am about to buy a rado 2.9 vr6 for it. was wondering what are the difference to LOOK at between a OBD1 2.8 & 2.9 as i dont want to go buy a obd1 2.8 lol i know there are some differences between the obd2 2.8 and 2.9 but i think the obd1 2.8 & 2.9 look the same :S thanks

hi guys just looking for a bot of advice here. last night my OBD2 golf vr6 decided to blow a piston so decided to just try get a 2.9 corrado engine n drop it in. so was wondering since mines is a obd2 vr6 golf an the rado vr6 will be a obd1 engine what would need doing to put it in or will it simple fit straight in and run fine. also my golf had schrick 264" cams will these fit straight into the 2.9 also. thanks for any help.

my mate has it on his mk2 golf 8v turbo, seems to work well

a charged vr6 would push a e46 out the way, my mate had a rado vr6 with bmc and exhaust and he stayed in front of a 3.0 m3 all the way.

bmc mate, might not sound as loud but wont soak up all the heat and will the cold air feed in a good plance you can really feel the difference

says my golf vr6 does it in 5.8. sweet means am faster than a mk5 golf r32.

seen it done also. but it was a modded vr6 againts a standard e36 m3 3.0.

just had 264's done on mines mate, aint had it mapped yet but it runs perfect and i can feel a big difference,

hi looking for a bit of advice. i put my car into a garage to get my schimmel 263 cams put in and when i picked it up i noticed the temp guage wasnt working , the needle just stayed at the bottom. done a search on the net and say a few pic of the temp sensors. Im a right saying your supposed to have a yellow, blue and brown sensor? i checked mines and i only have a yellow and blue 1?? my car is an OBD2 so not sure if its only supposed to have the 2 temp sensors and mabey it was a pic of a OBD1 engine that i saw. thanks

206 gti180 is faster than a bog standard vr6 in the book and is also lighter so i wouldnt be to gutted about it tho, but in the other hand if it was the 137bhp version then there might be something up with ur car

already got a good exhaust dont think am going to be going turbo/charged think im just going to be keeping it n/a

yeah think am going to need to. got it rolling roaded yesterday at 192bhp and 192 lb/ft so going to gets cams in then mapped now so hopefully be about 205-210bhp.
