    Inlet dilemma

someone posted that he'd bought some sticky insulating sheet from demon tweeks and covered the backside of his inlet manifold. Said it reduced intake temp and that after a good run he stopped and the top of the mani (normally gets hot) was pretty cool. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=NIM14100 - thermo tec cool-it mat http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=DEI010402 - Versa Shield Cheap effective intake mod i plan to use...the manis are too rich for my tite fistedness
  2. cars is mint Pete mostly, and engine is running but just a little rough and a little blue smoke sometimes. I do 140 miles a day so am thinking about longevity...and also a 100 shot nitrous Just found a place in Chesterfield, http://www.vegeuk.com who will do a reconditioned 12v engine (swap) for 1600 squids...hmm
  3. agreed on the engine history..its just the cost of the rebuild..painful. No havent looked around yet... what about your old engine Pete, you keeping or getting rid?

  13. do post up your progress and maybe we could get the thread made sticky... so how much of a temp difference do you think there would be? spacers a good idea too... My VR6 is missing the engine cover already, so i'd be happy to be a guinepig...depending where youre based?
  14. CF is more heat restant than metal so in theory it should work, i would think that any performance gain would be quite small though..
