  1. its not cheap for a rebuild, for example my mate has a tsr engine which cost £4000 to do it came with a pack A head which was £1500 so i guess the rbuild with labour an fitting was £3500 this was two years ago. i would recommend arp rod bolts and a seperate oil cooler as oil temp on corrados does creep up when getting death compared to the golf
  2. ive recently done a set of these on my mates vr and i would make sure it all lines up spot on its alot of work putting it togehter to find its wrong, is the intermidete shaft lined up correctly we didnt get his quit right an the cams lined up an crank never, all 3 marks should line up.when setting the top chains make sure the chain is tight on the guide and tensioner bolt is in before turning it over otherwise it will move the timing out. hope this helps
  3. i had this problem with mine, my abs light keept coming on an off an and over time it stayed on. so i vag comed an got intermetint fault code the first time an done it again when the light stayed on, which then changed to a fault code telling which sensor it was. all the time the light was coming on an off ment the sensor was braking down, it cost my £90 from vw for a rear sensor
  4. hi, using washers to space the caliper is not a good idea as you will still get some movement on hard braking as the caliper is not sitting flat against the hub ,you are better of using a plate which i think is roughly 10mm thick i can check mine if you want. or ecs do the longer bolts an spacer plate.
  5. Hi can any one help ive just fitted the 280mm rear disc conversion from the group buy which looks good. the only thing is my pads dont seem long enough to cover the disc face completly it comes up short by 10-15mm. has any one else found this with their conversion or no if mk4 pads are longer an still fit in a mk3 caliper or if i need mk4 calipers an pads as im still running standard mk3 calipers an pads. thanks, be greatfull for any advice
  6. hi nice write up ive done this 312 conversion an also got the 280 rear set up as well an she stops twice as quick as before well worth doing, i used the s3 caliper an carrier. the late vr caliper an s3 or tt caliper is basically the same overall size apart from the piston is about 1mm bigger on the s3 an tt. i think im write in saying that all the pads are the same from 288mm through to 312mm.
  7. hi i have six into one an it puts alot of heat out under the throtle boddie an around the leads as stainless dont dispurse the heat as well mild steel, i heat wrapped mine an redrilled the standard heat sheild to fit an dont seem to get any problems, although my back three leads do look like they are starting to melt abit but it my be worth a try

  10. Hi i was at the gti show satyrday and see a couple of mk3 golfs with strut braces and aircon. Their was purple mk3 with tt alloys in the owners club stand with aircon and a strut brace. i have the same strut brace but when i went to fit it on, it hits the aircon pipe before its fully down on the shock tower, I was wondering how they got aronud this problem or do you just force the aircon pipe down when bolting it on. Can any one help
