  1. are these the same as the bbs771 alloys? i have these fitted to my vento and im running 312mm bakes with no scrubbing. although i did have to gring the top of the calipers off! so if its standard 280s or 288s there shouldnt be a problem? oh yeh my cars not lowered yet.
  2. thanks alot will give em a bell tomorrow. was looking on the net but couldnt find any sites like that. Going on a top gear style trip through Switzerland/Italy with some a3's and r32's so will be hammering the brakes so wanna make sure i get the correct bolts!!

  4. thanks xyber i could get the washers from there but can not use stainless steel bolts as the tensile strength is too low. they need to be at least 10.9 or higher.
  5. does anyone know where to get the M12x1.5x40 High tensile bolts required for the conversion. i am based in leeds so local would be great. have done a search and been ringing local firms but cant find the bolts. also where can you get the m12x6mm washers? might just use 3 m12x2mm washers. thanks
  6. when i first got my vr after my mk2 astra i had got into the habit of thrashing my car from cold. stupid i know but only did it twice in the vr and now i am extra carefull with warming the engine, tyres, gearbox etc before i cane it. anyway mine got to bout 6k revs and i braked to a stop and it stalled thought i had proper shagged it. restarted engine and it was fine not sure if it ran lumpy? im cringing as i write this and have never done it again!!
  7. Is it your Aux water pump or all your electrics? one time my car went crazy and the wipers were working when i got up even though the keys were in my pocket. When i checked the Aux water pump was still going aswell. I had to take the battery out. Think it turned out to be a headlight bulb? Was strange might b worth checking.
  8. I turned up to this 1 at bout 3.30 and no1 from the vr6 owners club turned up! luckly the volksdevil meet takes place at the Peacock on the 3rd sunday of the month so was a good meet.   10. hey mate i bought a new cam sensor bout 3weeks ago part number should be 021 907 601A. i had to go to an audi dealer as vw in leeds didnt have any. oh yeh it was bout £42.
  11. I just bought one of the chinese ones that said it was a usb connection and 409.1 VAG compatible. I got my mate to buy it, so not sure which 1 but they are probably all made in hong kong anyway! The 1 i bought works for my 95 vento. The driver CD with the cable should have a cracked version of vag com on it aswell, Not sure if the crack wks as mine kept unregstering itself and it wouldnt let me scan my abs. I found another cacked vag com on the net but aint tried it yet. Mine looks like the 1 from AutoMobile Workshop
  12. Thanks for the replies. ps it was 11DEC not may! The car had tax and insurance and got the MOT the day after. on the back of the MOT form it says as long as a previous arrangement was made with the place of repair it should be ok. good job i rang the tyre place to find out where they were! Only problem is that the MOT test i failed was in the morning (11Dec) and after the accident and fitting new tyres the MOT place was closed so MOT is computerised and starts from the 12Dec.   13. Hi all. On the 9th of DEC my vento vr6 MOT ran out, as i couldnt get the car into the garage till the 11th i left my car off the road. On the 11th i drove to the MOT test station and the car failed due to warped rear disks and front tyres. so i had the brakes fixed in garage and then was on my way to get some tyres when stopped at a red light and someone drove into the back of me. (light rear damage quote of £370 to fix) so exchanged details etc. Then went on the way to garage got new tyres but didnt have time to return to MOT station till the next day (left car at garage overn
