  1. i agree with dstyrrell on that, i also think that my vr is sluggish from idle to 3 grand but once you hit 3200 rpm all hell breaks loose right up to the red line, surely it would be better to improve that bottom end section and get that torque all the way from idle, but playing devils advocate i do dis-agree with the rough surface airflow thingy, i can see how it makes perfect sense and yes a dimpled ball does go better but if that were the case why have people been smoothing out the ports for years and all saying it works? and why do car manufacturers try to produce smooth flowing lines?
  2. oh ok, from what ive read on here everyone seems to be against chips and in favour of a remap, does it make that much of a difference weather its obd1 or 2
  3. try an up-rated headlight loom if your lights are that bad, i nicked this linky from another site but beleive its relevent for a mk3 and combined with a decent set of uprated bulbs it worked a treat on my mk2. all in buying all parts it cost about 25 quid and an hour or 2 of you time, uprated loom, or you could go for a HiD conversion if money isnt an issue
  4. hmmm oh ok, thanks was just a little confused as i previously said my 93 ford never had nor needed one. will have to delv into this as ive read somewhere that upto 92 doesnt need one but from 95 do, it completely left out 93 and 94
  5. this sound interesting, would it be worth trying this on a standard engine even if just to get shot of the troublesome oe coil pack, also can a person with mitens for hands and the brains of a wooly hat (ie.. me) fit this lot?
  6. i want to start playing around with my 93 k plate vr but im working to a tight budget (probably mostly good second hand stuff) and was hoping for some pointers in the right direction, would i be right with a filter/induction kit along with an exhaust plus a re-map? would a 2.9 tb or inlet mani do anything? and what sort of gains would be expected from the above if any, unfortunatly i dont have the money to charge it. ive probably committed a cardinal sin and already fitted a universal cone filter with cold air feed and although it doesnt feel any different it certainly now sounds how a v6 shou
  7. my car is a 93 k, is this early enough to go without a cat? what is/was the propper cut off date for cars that have to have a cat? ive previously owned a 93 k mondeo (sorry) and that never had/needed one, would it be worth decatting?
  8. is it not possibly to just re-dye the leather? i mean there must be A product out there that classic car restorers or someone similar use or could reccomend for a budget tidy up job, just asking coz mines looking very tired
  9. im probably asking a daft question but where do i get my paint code from? i looked on the white sticker attached to the inside of the boot slam panel and it had 6 lots of 3 numbers, the colour is a dark purple/burgandy metalic, commonly refered to as dark mauve i think, please help as the stone chips and scratch's are doing my head in, oh and i also need to fit and spray a new boot lid.
  10. go to machine mart and get the drill attachment polishing kit, it cost about 5 quid a kit and you get one felt wheel one cotton finishing wheel one spindle and coarse and fine block paste, it works wonders and at a fiver a throw you might as well get a couple for when the polishing bug take hold
