  1. I'm sure in one of my student flats I had a floor covering (Kitchen Lilo) that the yellow one has in his grills. Also is that a SLR style air break on the back of the Yellow one where the raised break light is?
  2. I must admit I do not know how to put the R32 system in to the mk3 shell, so this is just my 2p worth and of course I could be wrong , In essence all mk3 shells are the same. There are slight differences with the parts like engine mounts and of course cosmetic ones also. But if you are gonna do all that work you are probably gonna be puttin in new/modified mounting/access points for engines/g/boxes/ductwork/bodywork..(transmission tunnel if doing 4wheel drive) etc anyway so....... go for the cheap shell and have the money to do it right. You just need to surf the Ebay for the high miles/s

    a 16v?

Nothing like a sorted big bumper mk2. Both Good cars. go for ever. 8v good if you r a city driver (grunt from the lights) 16v if you like to get the revs up (as they only work when spinning). Only advantage over a VR Fuel and insurance.
  4. Sweet Cheers I can now find the Paint code.... Oh and Nice ride man :-d
  5. which is the official colour of this red? Mines the same colour and not sure which is the right colour as I have to fix the "Car Park Incident"
  6. There was one on Ebay earlier in the week. not checked if its still there tho'
  7. Finally Ordered from a place called larkspeed in leeds and they have good prices in case anyone else is in need. don't know how their service is but they're ok on price. Wish me luck with the install. Cheers
  8. I have a m8 in the NE area who has set up his own mobile mechanic. he's VW trained. If you are struggling to find a decent guy to do it I can let you have his details. I must be honest I'm not too sure how far he travels from his base (Saltburn) or how his rates are. But he's gonna do mine in the next month or so (when I have the money together and get the weekend off to pop back) Let me know and I post the details. No pressure (h) ! Should you want them, Am I allowed to post direct on the forum??? or does it have to be PM *-) Cheers
  9. My research continues and I am told Koni dont make springs other than for coilovers so whose springs do they use in their package sets? Anyone know if its true and if it is - are they eibach which means I dont have to buy seperately? Thanks as always
  10. Ok so Winter is coming. I have read the links and feel I will go for the Angel eye set up by hella. (just to see better of course ) Just want to ask for one final check. So a quick question to those who have them! If bulbs / lenses etc go are they easy to fix and parts available? Also can I put any old bulb/lamp in them. I want to get to that Xenon look. Finally has anyone had issues of note and did you have to get them readjusted after fitting? Cheers and thanks as always Ladies and Gents Rod
  11. Oh and do I still have to cut the bump stops in half with this option?
  12. Ok sooooo, In this first link there are 2 types of front shocks. I can't spot the difference other than the price. Am I just being a bit Tim nice but..? http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/category_results.mhtml?category=koniyellowsportshocksfront&car=vwgolf3&manufacturer=koni&sub_category=1 and on the rears too but same price http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/category_results.mhtml?category=koniyellowsportshocksrears&car=vwgolf3&manufacturer=koni&sub_category=1 and I assume these are the correct Springs giving me 30mm drop and wots an ARB mk
  13. So why a combination and not a same manufacturer kit then?????
  14. Ladies and Gents, I have chatted on here before and have read the other links and know this is a big debate. But, I would be grateful if you could let me have your thoughts and comments please. To start with I cannot do coilovers because of the cost. I will only upgrade to 16inch wheels at some point but want to try and keep a standard look to the car as far a reasonable (angel eyes and stainless exchaust apart) and I will not be racing the car. Now I have finally found a link which gives me options - always dangerous :-p - kinda on the same pages! http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/pro
  15. There are some copper rings just behind the steering wheel (think they're air bags contacts). Are you getting any tiny copper scrapings or filings on your lap/floor along with the noise? If so easy fix - though i did put it into the garage to be fixed as I want that to still work after i had played with it. (also you must replace the pair not just one) I hope this helps
  16. Hello all please can you offer a little direction and help. I have checked the images and tips sections and now have a need but don't really know where to start. I am looking into doing a few little bits and pieces to the old beast (in the coming year or so), and was wondered where all you guys find the parts or ideas you are looking for. I am particularly interested in Halo type twin headlight conversion, slightly deeper chin spoiler, I have seen a different roof spoiler sprayed the same colour as the car, I would also like to get the blue and red colour for the instrument panels and light
  17. Not too sure but if you build a kit car then you are you have to have it tested by the vehicle standards agency (- I forget their initials). But I'm quietly confident you are allowed between 90 - 100dBA in order to pass that test. Might be worth looking on some kit car sites for some helpful links. good luck
  18. Good note on the WD40. Will be doin that then as I dont think anything has ever been replaced. (Low miles just hit 59k this week). It would b cool if you could post a note in a week or two once you got the alignment sorted/settled down and let us know if rubbing is happening and therefore if i need to limit the offset on the rimms. Good luck with the exhaust but would say read the warranty first as some state you must have professionally fitted. Means you then get replacement parts for free
  19. I've had to do this. You do have to take all the bits off the front (grill/panel etc) to give you access. you need to try and allow yourself as much manouvering room as possible. Also worth a mention wrap your tools in masking tape to protect the metal work as it is easy to scract it. It is a pain and takes time but thats the only way I managed it. Btw the cable may not have snapped. It's a 2 peice cable and has a little plastic thing to join the two halves together (on the divers side of the engine bay about half way down close to the top where bonnet meets body) mine had popped open and
  20. Not too sure as I've not had to do it yet. but i know there is a performance company in watford who will build Jap cars to your spec / drift cars etc. so they may have one or will know where to go in this area to sort it out. Here's their link http://www.hertsperformance.co.uk/ if you fancy giving them a call. Not sure if it's a bit far tho' Hope it helps Cheers and good luck
  21. Got to say that was exceptionally helpful as I was/am looking at something similar. Am I correct in reading it's future proof too for those all important 17s next year-ish. Without any other mods needed or rubbing? If you don't mind me asking (understand if you do of course) roughly how much did it all come in at once balanced etc..? Did you do front and back tops? Cheers Rod
