  1. They are brand new FK konigsport silverline x ones. It seems to be only the front two. I can't beleive that there would be a bad gap like that as standard. More likely the way they were built up before they went on!
  2. Jacked it up today, and there is about 10mm of play when lifting the wheel. The strut moves up 10mm too. I'm pretty sure its not supposed to do this!
  3. Thanks. It seems to get worse when there is less weight on the car. I might take them off again anyway just to make sure they are built correct.
  4. Sorry Jay, just read your post again properly! :$
  5. Are there any gaskets that are worth replacing too?
  6. The bolt heads in mine are splined with about 12 splines, maybe more! Its a 97 vr6 highline if that makes any difference?
  7. What tool do I need and where can I get it to remove these plastic covers? Any help would be great! Cheers.
  8. I've got a 97 highline, so am pretty sure its OBD2. I've got clips on the lip of the bulk head that look like they should have that pipe through them!!! Still not been accross the road to VW though! Tomorrow!!!
  9. I've recently fitted some FK's and they seem to make a clattering sound when going over bumps in the road. Is this normal for coilovers? Or do I need to take them off and rebuild? The noise can be heard quite distictivley from outside the car too! Any help would be great! Cheers!!
  10. Hmmmm, that sounds promising. Not been to VAG yet, so I'll check with them. I'm being lazy today and they are accross the road from my house!
  11. Nice one. I'll pm you once I know what I'm missing. Cheers!
  12. So, should it work without it? Or am I wishing??? I'll nip into VAG on MOnday to get an exploded diagram to see what else is missing.
  13. Yeah, I have got air-con, but it doesn't work! Wonder why???
  14. I think it could be for the Air-con. Mine hasn't got one!
  15. That link doesn't work for me. Is there anywhere else that sells the tool?
  16. Need my arches rolling urgently and I'm a bit skint so need to do it myself. Has anybody done their own before??? How did you do it??? I know you can knock ten bells out of them with a rubber hammer, but is there not a tool that actually rolls the arches and stretches them out??? Any help would be great!!!
  17. Looks great! What grade wet and dry did you use? That'll keep me busy this weekend!!!!!
  18. Need a bit of advice please!!! I fitted my nice new shiney set of these last Sunday, and after dropping the front 90mm and the rear 80mm, decided I like my tyres so raised it a bit. Arch rolling time I think! Anyway, there seems to be a dodgy clattering sound every now and again when I go over dodgy road surfaces. Is this normal for coilovers? Or do I need to strip them and rebuid??? Its not that bad, and at first I thought it was just the springs setteling. Anyone with any similar experiences with FK coilovers???
  19. Spoke to the service receptionist who was really useful.... not. She said that it is a regular 20k service, and it will cost £150 inc vat. Thats not including plugs or filter. Think I'm gonna do the service myself, reset the code and then spend the saved cash on a rolling road tune!!!
  20. Hmmmm. I'm kind of tempted to send it in for the big service, just to get everything checked out, although, changing all the fluids, plugs and filters, could be done by myself. Tricky one. I think I'll give VW a call and ask how much it is. That should have some effect on my decision!!!
  21. Mines saying in02. What does the BIG service involve??? am I going to need a lottery win???
  22. Looks like a fat Zebra!!! I'm not keen on the quad lights either but each to their own. Its good to see some originality instead of sheep following each other, although they're black and white too! Good job!
