Thanks guys, think you've hit the nail on the head. I've got a non-aircon VR. I've just got a secondhand engine and on inspection I saw three connector points. We've connected the left and middle one but wasn't sure what the right one was for. Some please tell me i've connected the right ones for non-aircon? -

How would this happen I'm sur the halfords chump just used the exiting connectors with a iso convertor I bought to link it up? Im gonna go back to complain anyways as my radio does not tune in!!!! useless gits. Yeah but if he used the new connector to tap into the existing wires then as everyone is saying you will need to swap the red and yellow wires. Yellow usually is ignition on and red is constant live (for memory). Try it yourself, it's not too hard. Coming to think of it doesn't sound like the buzzer prob is related, unless the muppet run a new wires from the ignition barrel

Sounds like the Halfrauds muppet has tapped into the the constant live feed to the lights buzzer. This would explain the lose of buzzer and the headunit staying on. You may need to re-wire the headunit 'ignition on' wire to the ignition barrel. Maybe?

Can anyone give me the full low down on these? I'm totally clueless, so i'm looking for a full run down, from what they replace to what needs upgrading etc, to power/torque gains, and of course cost. So all techincal knowledge and opinions are welcome Any pics would be helpful too

I'll back up the stereo prob, head unit is currently wired to constant live. Need to find or run a new wire for 'ignition on' control. The wires behind the stereo or near the ignition barrel can be tested easily with a simple wired bulb test rig (basically a small bulb connected with 2 wires).
