  1. Do a search on the mechanical forum as there are loads of threads about the obd1 and obd2! i think the obd2 has a larger intake or something, and uses a coil pack/different engine management
  2. anyone know where i can get some decent sideskirts, not too bulky or over the top!
  3. Mine was mapped by Storm developments Reading. Check http://www.stormdevelopments.co.uk Will be sorting out some benefits/discounts off these guys for the club soon. Im half way thru the mapping process as my chip is gradually changing to get the engine used to the forced induction. Im on the second run in chip at the mo, after another 3k miles i'll get the 3rd proper chip and then will be able to properly let loose. Woo Hoo!
  4. I spent alot on the mapping and the car was mapped and checked over 3 days of running the car to make sure everything worked as efficient as poss!
  5. J5KE x wrote "From my discussions with stealth and VAG tuner.com they all rate 268's! the higher rated cams can cause idleing problems for road cars. But think what other mods you are going to do later on, for instance if you are thinking about a charger, then these arent the best cams to go for without spending loads more wonga on mapping etc!"
  6. ive just had schrick 268 cams fitted to my vr6 with a stage 2 s/c and the extra benefits are amazing. U can really tell after 3000rpm as the pick up is awesome. There is no problem at idling either as schrick are the best at idling, you'll get idling problems with kent or piper cams.
  7. i got L33 VDB as my name is Lee Van Den Broecke, i know its not a vw or vr6 plate, but still pretty cool especially for people who know me! Sorted!
  8. Cams are 268's, not sure what pulley! Tensioners done at 82K. Just had 1000 mile service and replaced the chip which was a run in chip to a second higher stage run in chip, which will then be replaced with a 3rd chip (proper one) after 3000miles. Its just to let the engine settle down to the forced induction and not slam it all in and blow the engine after a couple of thousand miles. Jobs a good un!!! I'm sorting out some benefits and discounts with Storm Developments and will let u know shortly! Check http://www.stormdevelopments.co.uk Sorted!
  9. Am away in london for the weekend so will get some more pics sorted next week! Its a custom built kit as i got the charger from the US, the guys from Storm Developments, Reading built the rest, done an awesome job! Am getting some sort of deal with them for the club so members can get some discounts and benefits, news of that to follow! J5KE-will be awesome to catch up in Ragley hall! Sorted!
  10. ive just had mine done, looking at over 300bhp with stage 2 and other mods see my thread in members cars! Be interesting to see how we both match up? You going to Ragley hall on 18th Sept?
  11. My VR now has a beast under its bonnet! All parts below are new. *Vortech Stage 2 supercharger with custom built pipework *Schrick Camshafts *Aquamist *6 branch manifold with decat pipe and large throttle body *Re-con ecu with new software *Re-circ valves *Silicon elbows *Carbon canister relocation kit *Head gasket and chain tensioners *Crankshaft oil seals *Fast road front brakes *S/S Intake pipes *Full service It now goes like stink, has an awesome sound and is def over 300bhp! Am getting it rolling rolled in a few weeks so will find out exact figures then. See new pics, are getting new one
  12. Storm developments in Reading are very good. Specialise in vr's. No. is 01189810910. Check www.stormdevelopments.co.uk
  13. Hve you tried one of the newer polo ones?
  14. I'm using them at the moment, getting my vr back on Saturday. Andy and the guys really know their stuff. They're refitting my stage 2 s/c, using their own engine management system, recon the engine, schrick cams, aquamist, samco hoses, adjust suspension and steering, uprating my already uprated brakes. Hopefully looking at around the 320bhp. Will let everyone know soon. They re are just south of reading, near Aldermaston. Tel 01189810910. Sorted!
  15. Go with what mightyvr6 said, dont go with turbocharger if your using your car as an everyday car. Got a stage 2 s/c plus other mods and it goes like stink.
  16. I had a ram air, but was prone to clogging up with water (if it rained hard) and damp. Now run a jetex, same awesome noise and same increases without clogging up!
  17. Its one of the things ive found u need to look for when buying a new car (if anyone reading this is) is if the abs light works or not. In the past ive found the led bulb for the abs has been broken. easily checked, take the module out and take the cover off, also check if handbrake light constantly stays on. As Purple highline monster said it needs to be working for mot, so instead of fixing the abs problem they break the bulb to show no warning light!
  18. anyone got any web addresses for those bodykits by votex and abt, google is being an ass!
  19. Will get some pics sorted when i get my car back next week!
  20. all sorted, gonna take the car down to storm developments in Reading to get it sorted and do a few mods. gonna have Aquamist fitted whcich will add 30bhp+ to my stage two and upgrade my inlet manifold. Bloody nitemare when things go wrong!! Thanks for all your help guys, much appreciated.
  21. whirring from this plug type thing where my finger is pointing.
  22. will check that! No! No creamy substance or residue when i take the oil cap off! Checked coolant level this morning and it has leaked out and fallen directly below the car again just below the min level line like before, it doesnt seem to fall lower than this. There is also a whirring sound coming from this area see pics.
