  1. I'm thinking of getting some of these for mine, but isn't the pcd 5x112?? I think they look good!! Does anyone know the offset as I've seen adaptors but they're 25mm ones.
  2. Thanx for the advice guys... I've tried Brillo pads before (JaysVR6) - !amazed !lol - doesn't quite have the desired effect!!!! I found a local supermarket (NETTO - went in for some cheap beer for a party!!!) selling microfibre cloths for under a quid so bought a load... They worked fine for me and saved me loads of dosh. I'm most happy with the results (don't ask for photo's cos I don't know how to post them - when I can I'll post some either on this thread or on my welcome note). Cheers again guys....
  3. Hey there.... As said previously - glad it's not just me with some rust!!! !dodge You've got similar rust problems to mine - how much have you been told it'll cost as I need to start a respray fund? Mine's been stood for nearly THREE years (only done 7000 miles) but the bodywork has suffered.... Hope all goes well with the respray.... !lol
  4. Hey there guys... Just a quick question about cloth's. What do you guys use when polishing/ waxing your cars? Most people seem to either use 100% cotton towels, or microfibre cloths, or that stockinette roll stuff. I used to use old cotton t-shirts and towels, but I was reading on Meguiars website that mircofibre cloth is the best... What's the score - which is best? Most places sell these micro fibre cloths for silly prices (I've seen some for
  5. Hi guys... I don't know if this is of any use to anyone, but I found this fault code reader on a site when looking for a brake caliper tool (which they have for under a tenner by the way!). Check it out - http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=91700. There's an instruction pdf to view - if I'm right it is for ODB1/ older type interfaces. I was going to get one but mine is ODB2. It uses flash codes and seems to cover the basics in a car. I was going to buy it 'cos it was only cheap (way cheaper than a VAG-COM) and worth a try, but it's no use to me. Anyway guys hope this could help some of yo
  6. Hey there... I have Bonrath vents in these holes at the bottom of the bumper. You get a vent tube with it... Check out this place : http://www.autostyling.co.uk/Bonrath/product.asp?ProductID=1415&CatID=208&SubCatID=0 I got black for my black VR and they look the business... Also, check out the Kamei site : http://www.kamei.co.uk/index2.html I quite like the ones in the middle... Also, as for the space to run the hose/ duct, I had a small plastic tube-type thing which I just took out and fed the hose up - as I said it worked for me... Hope this helps....
  7. Hey there guys... Thanx for the advice, I took the battery earth cable off for about 20 minutes and ...... IT BREATHES GAIN - THE BEAST ROARS!!!!! Sorry about that I'm just happy that it's ok! It's a nightmare knowing that its outside and I can't drive 'cos of the knee op... Only a few weeks though and I'll be back drivin' with a HUGE grin on my face. I'll be back for more advice when I'm doing the major mods (supercharger etc)... Mines only got a Pipercross induction kit and a full stainless exhaust at the moment, but the sound is simply the best!!!! Cheers again guys...
  8. Ok guys, I'm new to this site so a big hello to y'all... I've read many threads and you all seem to be far more educated than most mechanics I know, so here's a possible puzzler for you to solve. I reset my service indicators (IN01, IN02, oel) according to the Bentley manual and from what I've seen on various threads, but now my blessed VR6 won't start! When I turn the key I get IN00 which I assume is right. I've got a TOAD alarm and a separate immobiliser (not factory - just forgot the name) and these seem fine - they turn on/off as per normal. When I try to start the car it doesn't turn over
