lol - good abuse!

Ive got the superchip too- Did you consider a remap? judging by some peoples experiences they seem to offer better performance and are individually tailored to your car. Anyway Superchip is good news! Scorpion DTM's i love them- they make a great noise- my mate had Scorpion DTM's on his mk2 16v. let me know what its like on your VR as i might be interested in getting one for mine When the money becomes available!

I cant believe how gay that is

"Yet they have time to do what they do and do it so well in their own unique style, which is envied by many and imitated by all"
I dont think envy is the right word- messers!
-
Hi m8, bet you cant wait to get it done- definitely notice a difference with all those mods at once- what chip are you getting? BTW Have you had 4 wheel allignment or standard tracking- with the full on four wheel allignment they check - toe, camber and castor. Have you got different tyre treads on the front? Mines been lowered a lot with big wheels, and it pulls to the left on cambered roads- it also tramlines quite badly- ive always had this on every car ive lowered- its a trait you have to live with if you want the better handling. Although it shouldnt do it on a perfectly flat road.

My mate - just had a name of 'cum guzzler' - great!

Mines 'The Necrophiliac' lol

OMG m8- thats not good news. If doing what i have done did not make a difference and i read the comments i probably would perform a premature oil change but seeing as its running sweet as - im happy for the moment! Mine was burning oil- suspected valve stem oil seals- it seems to have calmed down now (from what i can see) though so may have been down to very old oil. Will have a proper look fro any smoke on RR day when Vince is caning my car!!
-
lol- hehe- just got all my mates doing this in work- they asked him to moonwalk- and it did!! Quality!
-
Yeah i agree- im getting the same impression- when i bought the car i had no idea when the oil had been changed but under full throttle it sounded very tappety- was honestly expecting to buy new tappets- with the oil being so thin i wasnt expecting it to quieten down- once id added the slick 50 after a couple of days it has become sooooo smooth and quiet. As there is no actual scientific proof that Slick 50 does anything at all, its strange how its become so damn quiet!
-
lol - very good- like your avatar by the way
-
yeah - just read up on Slick 50- seems they went through a law suit in 1996/97 due to unfounded claims- and lost! As a consequence they had to stop making unfounded claims. The PTFE is actually a solid (powder) which is approximately 0.05 microns wide, whereas the average filter only lets through particles smaller than 0.02 microns- so your PTFE supposedly just gets clogged in your filter....i dont likr the sound of that! Ive used it with all my other GTI's and VR6's over the years though and never had a problem :? Wont be buying it again though- we live and learn Dont agree with there being anything wrong with Castrol RS- putting any fully synthetic oil in an old engine is a bit like russian roulette- fully synth acts like a detergent actually cleaning deposits and sludge (and if used from new leaves less deposits than a semi or mineral) - hey presto leaks! If your engines a dog- dont use it;) Possibly the slick 50's maybe thickened the oil im using- whatever it seems to be driving a lot nicer!! And ive got no leaks!

looks mint!- I second Mrben - drop it!
-
I had the same problem- copy the link and paste it into a new window- the VR doesnt look so white then
-
When did you do that then m8- must've been a grin!

Just popped down the road for some smokes and encountered a lovely wide ,traffic free, A road. Decided to have a bit of fun- Gave it some stick and was going way to fast- ah well In 8 miles my fuel gauge has gone down just over a 1 notch. Its taught me to be a little less lead footed!
I recently changed to fully synthetic Castrol RS 0w 40 and put in 750ml of Slick 50. I was a bit worried about this first of all, due to some posts about leaks etc, and the viscosity being to thin.
The last day or two the engine has really quietened down (i was contemplating changing tappets before!) and it feels the smoothest (and quickest) it ever has! Highly recommended combintion and i know this remark will divide opinion!

Ive got a scorpion alarm-1215t2 from the manual: to try a re sync: depress bothe buttons on the remote until the light on the remote stops flashing; release bothe buttons at the same time; and the LED should glow; press either button on the remote until the LED extinguisehes and illuminates; depress again until the alarm operates. If this doesnt work ive got a disarmin procedure written here but ive got to go out for a few hours - ill post it when i get back- let me know mate...
-
I like the look of that m8- bling bling!!! ;-) Good luck with the fitting!!

Congratulations m8!

Had Toyo proxes T1-S on my mk2 16V, nice tyres, as acf8181 says- very progressive, and good in the wet......

Starting off is to be expected in thi weather- should be just evaporating moisture sat in the exhaust. Maybe youve got a leak somewhere. Try what Mick says or a cheap way is to put something under the engine bay (paper or something white) and run it for a while and see if you get any substances underneath. Hopefully it will and youll know where the leak is.

Ive got a Scorpion alarm which is ok, but the toad ai606 is probably your best bet. I jad one a couple of years ago and never gave me any trouble and was fairly priced. Ive heard a lot of good things about them including no false alarms and very reliable. Like the sound of that remote start on the Clifford though!
