  1. Have you read it too: "As you can see from the photos It came from America and cost one thousand pounds in postage plus an extra one thousand for the price of the supercharger"
  2. Yes that won't fit a vr6 as it is clockwise rotating.
  3. Should fit fine if you have the correct brackets and idler pulley. Check out this page for more info and pics: www.the-corrado.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27844&start=0 Some more very good pics here: www.the-corrado.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26108&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=supercharged+vr6&start=285
  4. It hasn't been fitted because it's too difficult. Won't give much power either so your better off with a centrifugal charger like a vortech.
  5. The breather is plumbed into the air intake so if you have a hole there it amounts to an vacuum leak which means the car will underperform and run a bit rich. The part can be purchased from Ford fairly cheaply.
  6. If you bought a vortech v1/2 (with some parts missing) all the bits can be bought separately from C2 Motorsports. Otherwise only buy a complete kit. Personally I'd buy something new as kits have gone down in price and are pretty good value now compared with what they used to cost.
  7. Secondhand chargers are hard to find in this country but they do come up occasionally on ebay or on vw websites. I was just lucky to find mine (in the classifieds on this site) but haven't seen one since. Since you can buy new kits for around the
  8. You could use a solid rubber mount off a mrk2 Golf diesel.
  9. Can you get other makes of wheels? I'm looking for some 17" wheels for my big brake conversion.
  10. I think I might be able to afford the centre caps.
  11. Nice wheels. What make are they and how much?
  12. Z-eng is ok but the boost is limited. They're only a small company too and there isn't any customer support. Vortech is the way to go. I don't think anyone has made a cogged belt/pulley kit for the vr6 but it isn't really necessary esp. with the dual idler pulley which increases belt wrap around the pulley and prevents slippage. A good reason to buy a v1 or v2.
  13. Vortech chargers are all fairly similar. I would be biased towards a v1 (or v2) compared with a v9 because: it's capable of producing more boost with a larger pulley than the v9. (in other words it can flow more air at lower speeds due to it's larger impeller) therefore more power the v1 is louder because of it's straight cut gears. If you've got a charger you might as well let people know! You can use the dual idler pulley invented by C2 which eliminates belt slip. It's cheaper to rebuild than the v9 if it ever needed reconditioning. Other than these reasons I'd be happy with any vortech as t
  14. The C2 stage 1 kit should give you over 300 hp at the flywheel. It uses 36# injectors and a 2.87" pulley which produces 10 psi+. By comparison the VF-Eng stage 1 kit gives 260-70 hp@ 6.5 psi and the stage 2 280-90 hp@ 8psi. Therefore the C2 will serve you best if you want big horsepower. It really makes a huge difference to the car and is well worth it imo.
  15. The failures were the ZR1s which used oil-less ceramic bearings, a ribbed drive belt and didn't produce enough boost. The ZR2 solved all these issues with the cogged drive belt, steel bearings sppining in bath of oil and more boost. Ironically it was Z -Engineering who designed the brackets/tensioning system fo the vortech v1/2 before they got into manufacturing chargers.
  16. The v1 has straight cut gears and is very audible The v2 has helical cut gears and is quiter in operation. Otherwise they are virtually identical in terms of output and efficiency. Nothing wrong with Z-Engineering chargers either, particularly the ZR2 although they're not put together as well as a vortech and do have some minor issues.
  17. A vortech doesn't need reconditioning every 15k. Regular oil changes should keep it going for many a mile. One advantage of the v1 is that it's cheaper to rebuild than the V9 but otherwise they are both superbly engineered units which shouldn't give any trouble.
  18. Try ultimatetune (UK C2 Motorsports distributor) or NS Racing who sell them for around the
