  5. I'd go to Awesome if I were you Maak they took a fair while sorting mine but only charged the £53....
  6. and what a sweet golf it is! mmm
  7. The MAF is the bit after the airbox / filter, which has an electrical plug attached to it. It then is attached to the big black hose thats in the bottom left quarter of the above pic. Hope that helps
  8. I have looked today, and I don't appear to have that either??
  9. I had my tracking / alignment done last week at Awesome, cost me £53 inc VAT - car pulls in a straight line again now
  10. Which 'bit' of the pic is it? Also how would you go about cleaning it, do you soak it in thinners or something?? Cheers
  11. Do you have a picture of said item Phil? Mine does this on occasion and seeing as I've got a bit of time off I wouldn't mind trying cleaning mine too. Ta mate
  12. Mines 'only' 174bhp mate, the RR operator said it was the most bang-on VR he'd tested in ages so I wouldn't be too unhappy with that figure!
  13. I am considering selling, yes. I fancy a change having owned this for 15months now. Chris, judging by your username are you in Manchester? I'm only 20miles out of Mcr if you want to come and have a look at it? or email me daze_pat@hotmail.com if you are interested? Cheers, Pat
  14. or just buy mine ready made
  15. Mine also does same as Brett's. Not so much in the cold weather however, noticed it did it a lot more in the summer?!
  16. When I got my car I changed the oil pretty soon afterwards and used Valvoline 5/30, I thought it might be a little thin but it never used / leaked a drop in 8 months. Then when I got it serviced at Awesome they used 10/40 oil, which does need topping up every month or so.. wierd cos its thicker oil?

    highline

No I know, have seen other mk3s with aircon, the late P-R platers had it as an option didn't they? You tend to see all the green and silver VR's advertised as 'Highline' cough cough.. Anyone on here seen / got a Highline with Climatronic? I've only seen one of those before, was an imported Syncro model.

    highline

Mine had the wooden knob (which I've just binned and fitted a mk4 one) - Also... Highlines have the black sill trims with 'VR6' on, they have the courtesy lights in the front doors, they have Aircon - AND they also have BLACK interior A, B and C pillars (now there's a rare one no-one usually mentions lol maybe I'm just a nerd)
  19. bejesus! Thats not too bad eh! Mine got 174bhp @ 5796rpm and 169.3lb/ft last Sunday at Noble's in Chesterfield so I'm not catching you matey!
  20. about £70 they are apparently better quality I've heard tho, I've scraped mine to buggery since I got my coilovers and there's no cracks yet... My mate has a genuine one and his has the same gap as mine, however mine seems to bow outwards at the join. Not to worry it still looks ok
  21. You shouldn't be using pirated discs!!!! Seriously mine did it too, ie skipped all the time and it only lasted for about 2 weeks until I bought an Alpine mp3 unit instead and I haven't had that skip ONCE in over a year, with the roads round here too moan moan lol - it also means that with my slimline cd thingy in the cubby hole I have over 100 albums in the car now too
  22. Mines not a genuine one but it fits ok, smallish gap in the centre and it bends in a little but I've scraped it lots of times and its not cracked as yet. Picked it up at York dragway for £25 in the summer
  23. Welcome! Car looks wicked mate love the twin headlights
