plastic Arch strips

Hi there want to remove my plastic arches, but am left with a gap and a hole where the vr6 side srip ends. any ideas how to comabt this?? cheers :-d

Have it smoothed over? Only real way to get rid of a hole :-)

or get some cl side strips which cover the holes with standard trim!

You don't need to replace all your existing side strips with the ones from a CL. All you need are the ones that go on the rear quarter panels. The CL ones are 63mm long, as opposed to the 53mm ones you have. Euro Car Parts do 'em.

i found CL trim didnt match up tho, didnt have the line going thru iyt like the VR trim, i can get a full CL set for £25 (scrappy) Some places charge £100 plus

unfortunately yes you do (i have done mine)

the gti/vr6 ones are deeper than the cl ones and have a stripe down them ..

if you change just the rear quarter panel ones it look wrong ... :-( :-(

i replaced mine with colour coded ones from a highline, i think VW wanted about £180 for a complete set :@

i agree i have had the same trouble as the car is in the paint shop and have taken off the wheel arch trims (as requested)

i need a cl 3 door set because of the difference in depth

between the vr and the cl side trims

you can refit the vr6 side badges on to the cl trims, with a bit of work

A detrimed mine with cl trim for a fiver just your luck. the two are defo diffrent and remmbert to keep the clips from both the trims coz you brake most of the clips when you take them off.

Just to clarify then: If I remove the arches from my 5dr VR6 I'll be left with gaps in the side strips where they meet the arches?

I see the point about getting CL trim to replace but does the highline stuff look better?
