Kelster 0
My exhaust started blowing, and at low revs makes a kinda ding-a-ling sound. I took it into Kwik-fit as I was passing it and they said that a metal bung in the cat had corroded away and fallen out. They have plugged it up with a bolt as the hole was threaded. Does this sound feasible ? They said tht eonly other way would be to replace the cat etc. If what high flow cat could you recommend, I saw one from Supersprint ?
cadguy77 0
That threaded hole is for the lamba probe, find out where it's gone or get a new one fitted. No need for new cat
spanky 0
Is that the hole at the front or the back of the cat. the front hole (on top of the cat i think), is for the lambda sensor (it is on the later ones, not sure about early ones), but if that had come out the car would run like a dog. if it's the back hole it happens to a lot of them. I put a short screw into mine with some exhaust paste last year and not heard a thing since. I would say not to replace the cat unless the rest of it is falling apart! dellert 0
I think mine has a bung in it too, Lambda probe is at the fron, the bung is at the back. Supposed to be there. No problem unless the restt is falling apart.
