its the rubber bit thats perished (think its connected to the base) but is above the base bit, bit confusing i know %-6

do you think i will get away with just replacing the rubber part? which would be a right result as it will mean not having to take down the head lining ;)

If its the mast that just un screws from yhe base but if its the base its a more involved job that means dropping the roof cloth, but take your time its not as hard as you'd think

I am doing this later on in the week, and have done it before pm me if your needing more details on what to do mate

you dont actually need to remove the headlining much at all tbh. just take the boot seal off all the way round and you can gain enough access to the ariel base to undo th e nut and remove the ariel once you disconnect the lead. replacement is the reversal of this and then pop the seal back on. jobs a good 'un!
