alivr6 0
im using synta silver on mine and i've got 71 on the clock the three fousand mark is now due so will be going thru another oil change. i've found by using synta silver not only does it burn less oil but it is a perfect match for the vr lump.try gsf as they do a better price than vw.all the best. 8o)
binliner 0
is that a semi synthetic?
acf8181 0
the best thing to do on vr6's is to do an oil change every 5k and use synta silver (which is semi-synthetic, and is available from vw or gsf).by changing the oil every 5k it'll make the engine last longer...or so i've heard. VR6Steve 0
Agreed. About 10 years ago, a mechanic I was working with said to me " oil is the life of an engine, plugs and filters changes are good, but its the oil changes that make it last" Its something that I have never forgotten and think its excellent advice. VRmonster 1
hmmm, i was advised by a local vw specialist to use synta gold on my 100+k vr. but she burns oil badly, so now im thinking next oil change will be silver. well see how she fairs up.

VRmonster 1
well ive been debating on there proffesionalism (spelling?) recently, as i went in to get a full set of exhaust mounts as mine have slackened off with the scorpions weight, and they couldnt even tell me which ones i needed, they said i had to get under the car and have a look, and when i knew which ones i wanted, they could get them for me. lol. so i think im just going to take the trip further afield now, and go to stealth or somewhere. any good VW tuners near the north east? hmmm, best post that in the appropriate section.
