;) i have been looking at the road angel, navman, the magellan (like the military use) and the tom tom ones, all about £250-£300 they all seem to have the same features really, obviously the dearer they are the more maps you seem to get on them, i am after a basic "i cant find my way anywhere by normal map" replacement! just thinking of the most basic really, if you subscribe to the tom tom versions (about £4 a month) it gives you speed camera locations etc, i think you can get discs that give you other gizmos aswell, instead of beep warnings you get a cuckoo noise for mobile speed cameras and the like! has anyone else got any of these ther sat navs? trying to make the best choice and easiest to use!

I've got Tomtom mobile 5.2 running on my phone. It uses a bluetooth GPS revcier which is about the size of a matchbox. I just pop the gps reciever on the sunroof sliding cover so it can 'see' the sky and the phone in a holder - no messy wires. It works really well. It automatically uses the phones loudspeaker, and you can attach a bluetooth hands free to it as well.

You need a compatible pone though - one which uses simbian series 60 platform (Nokia 6260,6680 etc..)

Some people (not me of course) download a cracked copy of the software from the net, then buy a GPS reciever (about £40-£50).

You can search by street/town and postcode (7 digit).

By the way, you can download the speedcamera data from http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php for free. Follow the instructions on how to put them onto tom tom one/mobile etc... ITs very simple and gives warnings when approaching cameras and places where the police set up mobile speed traps. Also has red light cameras, continental cameras, specs, gatso etc...

You have to pay road angel about £5 a month for all the speed camera locations.
