Caddyslammed 16
mods are being done as we speak
silverline 0
i find it hard to believe on a stock vr?!but stranger things have happened
sparkz 0
Hmmmm...i find that very hard to believe, but hey, anythings possible!
TVR6 0
Of course anything is possible, I got an extra 70bhp by using one of those resistor chips you find for
Caddyslammed 16
bloody hell tvr6! that is a big increase, never heard of one of those resistor thingies though? can you explain please?

Eat this 2
lol tbh id be dubious about gaining 10 bhp from only a remap
VR6Pete 1,455
VR's run quite an advanced map anyway, at least on OBDII's, therefore you wont gain that much more power on a stock engine and just a remap.Pete
Caddyslammed 16
But a remap is good for a slight change for the better on economy most of the time, is that correct?
VR6Pete 1,455
I could think of better ways of spending the amount you are going to be tbh You may find the throttle a little more responsive however... If you are after economy, then you really are owning the wrong car VR's offer smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon... hehe Pete
TVR6 0
lol no, I was not being serious. Sorry, couldn't resist Pete's right, the ODB2 is the more powerful of the two versions (ODB1, pre 96 I beleive) so it's already running close to peak power. Both Stealth and AMD claim an extra 10bhp (actually AMD claim 15bhp, which is highly doubtful). Where the remap scores is that the throttle response is sharper and most flatspots are eliminated. Eat this 2
iv heard stories about amd fiddlin with their correction software to give better numbers

VR6Pete 1,455
If you have flatspots, it's quite possible that you could have a fault... normally sensors could be at fault, they might just need a clean, or replaced... have you had it on the VAG COM at all?I cant ever remember my stock engine having flatspots tbh...Pete
