Jezza 0
Hello. Was thinking maybe in the summer next year of going to Germany. I have read a lot that the shows out there arwe NOT to be missed and that parts are very cheap. I would dearly love to go and see some shows and maybe look at parts for a vr if/when i hopefuly get one. Its nice to think of me having one you see. Has anyone been or is anyone thinking of going this year to any shows over there or give me advice of when and where shows are. Perhaps the biggest or the best as biggest is not necessarily best as e38 proves. Many thanks for your helpin advance.
TVR6 0
Perhaps a mass VR6OC joint trip might be in order

cadguy77 0
i'm very interested in this idea, i've always wanted to drive to Germany and open her up on the Autobahns !amazed
Ferrari VR6 0
I'd be well interested in that as well if it's next summer!
Guest vwsyncro
great idea, a weekend or longer !amazed at the nurburgring, there are nice cheap hotels and campings, for me just 2 hour drive here som nice site'shttp://20832.com/http://www.nuerburgring.dedutch site (also in english)http://www.8200rpm.com/and this is one of the best, and it's a english site http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/read the safety warning on the last one!!! The1andonlygav 0
i'd always wanted to go to the ring but after reading that warning, now i'm not so sure!!
TVR6 0
It does make you pause for thought doesn't it... Pleasure and pain principle I guess...
Jezza 0
I think it is a brilliant idea. I have heard that it is about or around the 35 quid mark for the day. Get as many runs in as you like/can. If you camp then that saves a lot of cash and if you get a cheap hotel well thats an idea too. Lets see if anybody else shows interest. I was thinking next summer to be fair. Id like to do that as im hoping i will have a vr then too. With speeding, dont do it is the answer. Save your petrol and just speed off on autobarns and on the track. That way, EVERYONES A WINNER! !lol
Guest vwsyncro
racing your car over the nurburgring is dangeroes, you could take a ride whit somebody who know's the circuit, over the years ive met a guy who ownes a porsche gt3 manthey tuned, it is great fun to ride allong whit him, and freakin fast, he overtakes the ringtaxi and the ring viper !dodge , it's a racecar whit allot of carbon on it, rollcage butit has a permit to go on the street, he lives about 10 miles from the circuit and does about 20 laps a week !amazed and not expensive, you pay 50 euro to drive whit him, going faster on the nurburgring is almost impossible.here i am, strapped in the monster.http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto=EDFVG6AF
Seademon 0
You have to do a few laps of the ring its one of the best things I've ever done! I love the place - been 3 times this year & even if you dont fancy taking your car on the track theres loads of spectator points and lots of mishaps to see when people get things wrong (which they do quite often!) The drive there and back is brilliant to.
Guest vwsyncro
averige is 1 death a week on the nurburgring, heard that in the ambulance wich brought me to the hospital when i crashed a citroen saxo &| i went 6 times over the roof, so i heard, i was unconcious.just asked to much from the car !sad
Jezza 0
Ok then. So it seems that being sensible is the way to go for now. but i think that as long as you are sensible and dont push too hard until you are as a person absolutely sure you are happy to, then thats fine. What does everyone think though? good idea or bad idea? Maybe a go-er?
Guest vwsyncro
well i just mean that ist's great to go overthere, but it can turn from a dream into a nightmare in a second!just hold on to the safety rules on this site!!!!!http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/safety-leaflet.pdf
cadguy77 0
I'm well up for this. Been speaking to freinds and there is a planned trip to the ring this easter for a long weekend. Mass convoy there and a few runs around the ring. There are a mix of cars going too from Porsche's to VW's, and a few bikers too.So anyone interested in getting things organised for the easter break? I'm planning to go for sure, but would be extra nice if the VR6 crew got together too!!!!!!

Seademon 0
I might be up for it at easter Aswad depening on the money situation - saving for a flat and dont wanna sell the car! Im doing Eurothrash in June & to the ring in Sept with Eurothrash.Playing GT4 helped me memorise some of the ring but nothing can prepare you for it! The game doesnt have any of the gradients of the real thing & it took me around 5 consecutive laps before I started to push myself and take chances but as 'VWSyncro' said it can go from a dream to a nightmare in an instant - its approx 14miles a lap which has around 75 corners.Make sure you have plenty of life left on your pads to before you go - when I went in Sept, a mate in a 200SX had to get someone to shape some Audi pads to fit his Nissan in the car park at the Nordschlife - German engineering at its best!
