matth76 1
Any chip will only give more power on the ODB1 but just improve driveablity on the ODB2. By the way it will NOT just be a case of plugging into the ecu ...normally it needs to be souldered on to the ecu board.
Eat this 2
it also says disributer on it i wouldnt trust it personally
binliner 0
matth76 - that chip isnt for OBD2 anyway and the ad says the same thing about might need to be soldered!!Eat this - it says distributor because its for cars with a distributor!I agree though usually if something looks too good to be true it is
jezmoz 0
so what you're saying is , don't buy it?????
binliner 0
I wouldnt bother if it was me but its only £30 so as long as u dont damage anything by fitting it it's not a fortune to risk
Buzzark 0
As long as you don't have to solder it, it's possibly worth a try.The claims aren't radical, nothing seems over the top and as for cost - yes, superchips etc charge hundreds but once the map is developed, the actual cost of the chip is around
silverline 0
i ve seen this person sell one for the coil pack version. i checked his feedback from the person who bought it and they said it worked!! his feedback score is 100%, i personally would go fo it. jezmoz 0
where is the ecu chip located ? %-6 i want to check to see wether it's a soldering job!
Seademon 0
Its underneath the scuttle panel (under the front wipers) - I've been told that its a bit of a pain to take out so maybe not worth the hassle unless your really gonna go for it
VR6Pete 1,455
Personally, I wouldnt bother, I've seen contless VR's on the rollers at stealth with these style of chips, they pink to hell and actually do more harm than good.
Nerih 0
tbh, vince at stealth loaded up somone elses map on my dastek and it worked fine, throughout the rev range, if your trying to squeeze everything out of your car, then you have to get a finely tuned custom map.you will notice poor timing/fueling before you damage anything, unless its really bad hehe.i had poor timing on mine for a few weeks and the knock sensors did alot of work for me.but i wouldnt risk it, get a custom remap, its the best way.oh and most importantly,(i havnt read that ebay page very well, forgive me if im missing this, its 1am!) when you buy a chip for your car you HAVE to send your ECU code to them, just becuase your odb 1 or odb2, we dont have all the same ecu codes (2 letter).c2 make odb1 chips for BM and AG ecu's, but not for CH ones (in that case you need a replacement ECU).I'm 99.9% sure the same will apply to any other ECU's. Be weary of sellers who offer 1 for all on odb1/2's.no ECU code, no chip workky .
