strange noise when pulling away

Recommended Posts

defo not loose bolt or abs i took it for a drive last night and it didnt do it it sounds like something rubbing its too hard to explain i reckon its something to do with the clutch or around that on another note my abs doesent always work but the light went off last night so i gave it a test and it work fine when the lights off but the diff lock dont work thats when i tested to see if it was still making the noise tryed a few fast pull aways and all i got was wheel spin.

sorry also i know this is getting long now but the noise dont seem as bad if i pull away really slow so its gotta be gearbox clutch area i have no clutch slip and the gears work fine do clutches fail in any other way than wearing down or shattering i remember a mate had an old volvo that made the same noise all the time any its too early to babble more so i will leve it with you guys hope i gave you enough info thx.

When you lift the clutch pedal.. Does the noise appear then?? and if you dip the pedal does the noise disappear? When you pull away do you reckon that the "Vibration" is apparent then settles down or is it there all the time?

this sounds like what my car does , more around the 'bite'

Jez.. yours sounds like the Thrust bearing needing replaced, failing that it could be the pressure plate..Vag clutches aren't always the best.. never had a pressure plate collapse, clutch plate was fine but pressure plate splines gave up.. hence no gears... or judder before packing up!

check the rear wishbone bushes

mine was gone and made a hideous noise - because it's bolted through the sub frame the noise is amplified and sounds terrible. . . .

i could also feel mine through the pedals. . .

does it only do it when you pull away and come to a stop???? not while driving?

it only happend really bad the other day but only happeds in first gear when lifting the clutch or on the biting point once moving noise all gone no feedback through pedal either could it be weak clutch springs also how much should my gearboc mount be moving i can rock mine quite a bit just wondering if it really needs replacing.
