PiperUK 0
Major disaster this morning...I put my foot on the brake pedal and guess what. Nothing happened! As you can imagine I shit myself. Luckily there was a just a small bite from the brakes when I smashed the brake pedal to the floor. Also the handbrake cable was loose (has been for a few days)....I'm hoping I can get it to a garage tonight...any ideas what it could be fellas? The brake fluid is still above the min mark
Craig 0
Not a nice experience! How does the brake pedal feel? Is it "spongy" or does it literally go all the way to the floor with no resistance? Has any work been done on any part of the braking system lately? So far I'm thinking either air in the system, or a master cylinder fault.
PiperUK 0
Definately a 'spongey' feel... :|

antera309 3
This is the first case of total brake failure I've ever heard about on a VR. If you're not losing fluid, I'd say the master cylinder is a good place to start looking.
PiperUK 0
Thanks antera, I agree. Lets face it, whatever it is its going to cost me
28v6r 0
Not necessarily..could be that the pads are stuck in position and the caliper is at full extension on depression of the pedal, had this on my Caddy after only one week of being laid up, could also be siezed calipers... heres hoping.... TVR6 0
That's not a bad colour. I was told that on some forums when I bought my Dragon Green VR but plenty of others seem to have it and those that have seen it, like it...

PiperUK 0
Problem turned out to be seized rear brake calipers...had em replaced with new discs and pads all round, plus new handbrake cable, brake fluid. Nationwide Ripoffcentre charged me
Craig 0
I cannot help but wonder how replacing disks and pads remedies siezed callipers ...That total sounds steep to me. How much labour did they bill you for?
