info please, has anyones car drinks water over the summer, I would say since July I've had to refill my coolant twice. The car never overheats and the performance has not suffered but it does drink a bit of water, is this norm??

Had the head gasket changed when I got the engine rebuilt in July so just thught if anyone else VR has been thirsty over this warm summer we have had.

FYI I do around 2k per month on miles due to business

look for leaks first off as eat this says! favourites are the thermo housing itsefl as they are prone to cracking, and the aux water pupm sometimes develops a leak too. and the head gasket to, but you say this has been done. lets hope its been done well, take it there's no oil in the header tank normally?

yes, all of the above are the common ways that water leaks out of ur vr. to check the water pump, just see if its running straight (or if it wobbles), water should be leaking out of it if its going. also that thermostat housing, somtimes it cracks right under neath it, and its REALLY hard to see where its coming from, i'd use some UV fliud and leave it in your cooland and try to find it the day after using a black light.
